I can check “ate dinner at the palace” off my list! On our final night in Florence, Adventures by Disney hosted a special “surprise” dinner for us at Palazzo Borghese. We feasted on Bisteca Florentina and were entertained by an Italian folk band. The night was filled with Disney magic and was the perfect end to our Italian Adventure!

Day 6. We spent the morning in Siena and learned a lot about the local culture and people who live there. In the afternoon we boarded the motor coach for a late lunch and wine tasting at Fattoria Poggio Alloro in San Gimignano, a Tuscan farm in the Chianti region. Not sure what was better - the homemade pasta dishes or the incredible wines we sampled. The kids on ABD also participated in their own tasting of different local sodas while we sipped our wine. With full bellies we dragged ourselves back to the motor coach and returned to Florence.

A stop in Pisa and an evening back in Florence rounded out Day 5 of our Adventure by Disney Italian tour. I was once again grateful for all the little behind the scenes things ABD does- like arranging a trolley so we didn’t have to make the mile walk from the parking lot to the leaning tower of Pisa in the 99 degree heat, and having the air conditioned motor coach cooled before we boarded to return to the hotel. Another great day in Italy!

This morning we headed to the town of Lucca. We rode bikes through town and along the exterior walls of the city. Lunch, gelato and we are off to Pisa for the afternoon.

One of the things I love about ABD is all the magic they make happen behind the scenes to make touring carefree. This morning someone picked up all our luggage from outside our hotel room door in Sorrento. We went about our day- visited Pompeii in the morning and took the bullet train to Florence in the afternoon. When we opened our hotel room door in Florence our luggage was waiting for us. We are experiencing a new kind of Disney magic on this adventure.✨

Pompeii has been on my list of “must dos” for a long time and it did not disappoint. The pictures don’t do the story justice.
Off to the train station for our next stop- Florence.

We spent today on the beautiful island of Capri. We took a ferry from Sorrento to Capri and then took the funicular (lift) from the bottom of Capri to the top. Our Adventure by Disney guides arranged for a private boat ride around the island in the afternoon. We swam in the Mediterranean and snacked on Granitas. It was a perfect day.
Tomorrow we will visit Pompeii in the morning and travel to Florence by train in the afternoon.

After a beautiful day in Positano and Amalfi we headed to a small farm for an olive oil and mozzarella making demonstration and homemade pizza making! This morning we boarded the ferry in Sorrento for a day trip to Capri, a private boat ride around the island and a swim in the Mediterranean.

Boarded the motor coach this morning with Adventures by Disney for a day trip down the Amalfi Coast for lunch in Positano.

The first hotel stay on our Adventures by Disney tour is The Grand Hotel La Favorita in Sorrento, Italy. Upon arrival our family was greeted by our two ABD tour guides. After taking care of a few logistical things we checked into our room for the next 3 nights-a spacious two bedroom suite in our own little corner of the hotel.

On our way from the train station in Naples to our hotel in Sorrento. Our Adventures by Disney driver says “this is a beautiful spot for a photo”. He pulls over the car and and we hop out for a minute. Bellissimo!

When my daughter was four she was obsessed with Rapunzel. We headed to the Magic Kingdom on the first day of our WDW family vacation that year to meet her. The line was long … and it was hot. But what a magical day!
