Wild beach x Guadeloupe:
Experiencing outside how nature intended.
•••
Wild beaches are also known as undeclared, undeveloped or undiscovered beaches. Their coastlines are not developed for tourism or recreation, and they do not have lifeguards or the trappings of modernity nearby, such as resorts, camps, and hotels. Wild beaches can be valued for their untouched beauty and preserved nature. They are important biomes with important roles in aquatic or marine biodiversity, such as for breeding grounds and nesting areas for sea turtles, seabirds, penguins, fish, and a host of trees and plants.

Arches National Park | Pt. 2
•••
At a lot of these arches and sandstones begin forming over 300 million years ago. When the water that used to cover this region evaporated it left behind a salt bed, which today lies beneath the landscape of Arches National Park. Over time, the salt bed was covered with sediments that eventually compressed into rock layers. Overtime movement of the salt bed beneath caused layers of rock to shift and erode and shift form into vertical sandstone walls called fins. Over thousands of years, the slightly acidic rain in the area mixes with carbon dioxide in the air to form carbonic acid and slowly dissolves softer parts of the sandstone. Since many of the rock formations have weaker layers of rock on bottom that are holding stronger layers on top, the weaker layers would dissolve first, creating openings & canyons in the rocks.

is in eastern Utah, adjacent to the Colorado River. There are more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches located in the park, including the well-known Delicate Arch (slide 5). The park contains the highest density of natural arches in the world. The purpose of Arches National Park is to protect extraordinary examples of geologic features including arches, natural bridges, windows, and balanced rocks, as well as other features of geologic, historic, and scientific interest, and to provide opportunities to experience these majestic natural settings.

Have you ever had Kassav? Drop your flag.
I was so glad we were able to visit a kassaverie while in Cap-Haïtien. Kassav (aka Cassava, Kassava Bread, etc) is a popular food throughout Haiti, but nowhere else in the country makes it quite like they do in the northern port city of Cap-Haitien.
Living in the states, it's one of those things we feel lucky to get our hands on whenever we have family or friends traveling from back home. Kassav is made from Yuca Root/Manioc/Manyok.
It's actually grated yuca and is considered a flat bread. It's a heritage of the Tainos (Arawak) as it was a staple of their diet.
The Tainos lived in Puerto-Rico, Jamaica, Cuba, Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic) and in other parts of the Caribbean. Being able to see this process in real time was amazing but it wasn't lost on my how much hard and (very skilled) labor goes into making this Haitian/Caribbean staple.
The heat coming from the dozen or so stone pan ovens rivaled the heat of the sun (and won!). Enjoy this minute BTS of making one of Ayiti's most classic snacks. And if you haven't tried some - find you a [better?] Haitian friend I not me though.

Diablo Lake | Whatcom County, WA
-
Diablo Lake is a reservoir in the North Cascade mountains of northern Washington state. Created by Diablo Dam, the lake is located at an elevation of 1,201 feet (366 m) above sea level.
The unique, intense turquoise hue of the lake's water is attributed to the surrounding glaciers that grind rocks into a fine powder that is carried into the lake through creeks. That fine powder, also called glacial flour, stays suspended in the lake, giving the water its brilliant color.

Go Take The Finger Lakes | Another Side of New York
-
Welcome to New York's Finger Lakes region. Watkins Glen, NY is a small village upstate that sits on the south end of Seneca Lake, the largest of the glacial Finger Lakes. The lake takes its name from the Seneca nation of Native Americans. In addition to the beautiful natural scenery of gorges, glacial lakes, mountains, and waterfalls, the Finger Lakes region is New York's largest wine-producing region. Over 400 wineries and vineyards surround Seneca, Cayuga, Canandaigua, Keuka, Conesus, and Hemlock Lakes. And a number of microbreweries and distilleries. If that sounds like the perfect place for a weekend getaway from the city, that's because it absolutely was.

📚📖✨ Before we took this trip we asked some friends for suggestions of places to visit in Portland & came up several times! And good thing, because we set out on a mission to find 'Courage Is Calling: Fortune Favors the Brave' by (a highly recommended read).
Powell's Books is a chain of bookstores in Portland, Oregon, and its surrounding metropolitan area. Powell's headquarters, shown here, is dubbed Powell's City of Books and claims to be the largest independent bookstore *in the world*. Located in the Pearl District on the edge of downtown, Powell's City of Books occupies a full city block, contains over 68,000 square feet (1.6 acres) of retail floor space, and and rates it one of the "coolest" bookstores in the world.

What a week we had exploring Oregon and Washington. Driving up and down mountains, hiking into valleys and up to waterfalls, crossing white water rivers, encountering wolves, exploring cities, discovering new food, and making friends. This is what we mean when we say "Take the city!" Each new place we visit is full of adventure and exploring it all is a challenge waiting to be accepted. Take the city by storm, by force, or by surprise! There is so much waiting to be discovered.

JarrBar is the creation of owner Bryan Jarr. In 2014 Bryan travelled through Portugal and Northern Spain researching traditional ways for preserving seafood. Jarr turned a storage closet beneath Pike Place Market into a bar resembling watering holes in Spain or Portugal, and the most welcoming neighborhood bar in the thick of the tourist zone. The white-walled space, it's staff, and the local patrons are about as charming as they come. Believe it or not, old school hip hop blaring through the doors is what got us in, the great service and friendly staff is why we stayed… and went back the next night! If you're ever in Seattle, you know what to do.

Take Seattle:
The Seattle Great Wheel is a 53-meter tall giant Ferris wheel at Pier 57 on Elliott Bay/Puget Sound in Seattle, Washington. At an overall height of 175 feet, it was the tallest Ferris wheel on the West Coast of the United States when it opened in June 2012.
A quick way to enjoy a drink (yes, drinks are allowed!) and get a bird's eye view of Seattle. If you ant to do it up a bit more you can enjoy Great Wheel Private Dining featuring food from The Fishermans's Restaurant and Bar. Enjoy a spectacular 4-course dinner and pair it with a great bottle of red or white wine and views of the Puget Sound.

Gearing up for plenty of travel in 2020!
Every trip is different, just like every traveler is. We work hard to curate experiences based on the places we go and the people we take to make sure you get the most out of every city you visit. From the landscape, nature, food, nightlife and culture, while balancing adventure, exploration, relaxation and FUN! We don’t just look for a good time, we create it.
If group travel is something you enjoy or are interested in, stay tuned for updates on where we’re heading next. If you already have your group or a travel partner and need help with an itinerary and logistics, we’ve got that covered too (wait until you see the birthday and bachelor(/ette) trips we’re planning 🥳).
Don’t just go on a trip, Take The City.
