Learn about the natural history of Central Texas, while exploring these ancient caverns. Another fun fact, our fireplace and garage exterior are made from rocks that came from the excavation process when these caverns were discovered!! A bit of downtown Belton history! A great destination for yummy food and crafted beverages while exploring all downtown has to offer.

Did you know? Belton was dependent on the cotton industry from the 1880s to the 1940s, and it scored a big win when they announced the construction of our original brick building in 1927.

Planners boasted that it would have state-of-the art machinery to produce the highest grade of cotton. There were several gins operating around Belton in the 1920s, but the Belton Farmers Co-op Gin is unique as a rare example of a surviving brick cotton gin.

Here is a postcard depicting a typical day during cotton season in downtown Belton from the Texas State Library.

Come enjoy mesquite-grilled cuisine in this charming 1927 restored brick cottom gin nestled by the creek.
