The expedition leaders of Le Commandant Charcot have been testing unprecedented experiences that will be offered to the farthest reaches of both Poles. They have taken up residence in the French Alps to check out all the aspects and ensure your safety. An essential step in the preparation of these cruises in the heart of previously inaccessible areas.
Height 9.2 metres, width 3.12 metres… These are the dimensions of the remarkable digital art piece displayed on Deck 5 of Le Commandant Charcot.
Titled 'Oscillations', this masterpiece by French artist Miguel Chevalier adds a completely unique decorative element to our ship.
Inspired by the way glaciers form, the piece changes and evolves to the vibrations of the music of French composer Michel Redolfi, whose works are based on the deep underwater sounds of the seas and oceans.
Our ship Le Commandant Charcot's design was the result of a long reflection between our teams and our naval architecture firm SDI. Now that her construction is complete, she is ready to reveal some unsuspected places in the Arctic and Antarctica.
