Just arrived at the Hilton Cancun. This all-inclusive is absolutely gorgeous! Opened in November 2021, this elegantly decorated resort is nestled along the Caribbean. A quick 10 minute ride from the Cancun International Airport gets you started on your vacation in paradise in record time.

The Van Gough Museum was wonderful! We spent a couple of hours getting to know the tortured soul. I didn’t know or forgot that he didn’t start drawing/painting until he was 27 and died at 37. I was drawn to his paiting of shoes. He bought used shoes and further distressed them by dragging them in mud. He appreciated useful and well-worn items. His Almond Blossom painting was another favorite of mine. He painted as a gift for his newborn nephew/godson and was cherished by the family.

Will you come along with me?

I am headed to Amsterdam for an Ama Waterway River Cruise.

This is my first river cruise and my first visit to Amsterdam. I am so looking forward to seeing the Venice of northern Europe. My daughter is coming along for this adventure. She is looking forward to the visiting the Anne Frank House and trying out the coffee shops.

I have to admit that Amsterdam is pretty low on my list of places I want to see. I won this trip for outstanding sales in my business last year. I have been doing some research about the city and the places we will be stopping, and I am getting increasingly more excited!

One of the quiet places onboard Oceania Riviera, The Library. The cruise director was replenishing the shelves while I was getting done work done. The library has over 1000 titles! It is located next to the coffe shop onboard. Perfect spot to hang out with your next favorite book while coffee aromas tickle your nose.

I had the privilege of meeting Chef Kathryn Kelly onboard Oceania Riviera. Her story with a background in epidemiology and founder of WebMD makes for an extraordinarily impressive background. Throw in that she is now an Executive Chef for Oceania and you would be hard pressed to find a more interesting life story. She shared with us that she "Loves seeing the world through food."

Equally impressive is the amount of money that Oceania has invested in their onboard culinary school where you can attend demonstrations and cooking classes where you can learn how to make some of Oceania's most requested dishes. Over $10 million in kitchens onboard Riviera, Serena and Vista. Also available in some destinations are over 60 culinary discovery tours personally curated by Chef Kelly. Small groups are escorted to Michelin Star restaurants (in some locations) to meet local chefs and experience authentic local cuisine.

This is the absolutely gorgeous pool deck on Oceania’s Riviera. This the perfect spot to soak in the Caribbean sun ☀️ and get lost in a novel or take a siesta. The fitted towels envelope a glorious 5” thick lounge cushion (too much?:)

I don’t want to leave…ever…

Breakfast at Waves Grill onboard Oceania. Located on the absolutely gorgeous pool deck, this outdoor eatery offers breakfast and lunch in a casual atmosphere perfect for spontaneous chats with fellow voyagers.

I chose a made to order omelette with a plate of fruit. I am headed onshore to for a monkey adventure…more to follow.

Dinner at La Reserve by Wine Spectator menu by Jacques Pepin, Oceania Cruises Executive Culinary Director aboard Oceania Riviera was simply outstanding! French Food is usually not my top choice but I had heard so much about these dinners I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try.

The experience starts outside the main dining-room where you can mingle and share champagne and an appetizer puff with your dinner mates.

Your dinner captain rings a bell to move you into the main dining room to take your place at one of three large tables adored simply with candles and short bouquets of lovely white roses.

All the wait staff line up and are introduced and the food journey begins!

Every wine is explained in detail and every dish is plated and served with precision. My two favorite courses were Filet de Sole Brillat-Savarin (Dover Sole with Crustacean Mousse & French Black Truffles, so tender and savory and the Soufflé de Homard Plaza Athen (Maine Lobster 🦞 & Cheese Soufflé), this was buttery and melt in your mouth delicious.

This is a a special experience not to be missed.

ONE MORE SLEEP, I can hardly keep it together!

This week has been an absolute whirlwind. I have been trying to get my schedule to a place where I can feel pretty confident I can step back a tiny bit to learn even more about the fabulous Oceania Cruise Brand!

I want to thank you, my people, for reaching out and inviting me to be a part of all your wonderful vacation plans. I just finished all my quoting for the day and am moving on to getting my packing finished up. DON'T JUDGE the madness that you see below, I know what I am doing...I am a professional. 😎
