SUSPENSION OF FLIGHTS LIFTED: Effective Thursday, April 1, 2021, the temporary suspension of all commercial flights from Manila to Zamboanga is lifted.
With the resumption of flights, the City Government of Zamboanga will require NEGATIVE NASOPHARYNGEAL RT-PCR test result for ALL INBOUND passengers whether government or private APOR or private citizens, regardless of reason or purpose of entry including transit travelers, prior to entry into the city from Manila, Cebu or Davao City and other provinces, cities and high-risk areas, as approved by the Regional IATF during its 13th Joint meeting Wednesday morning.
The negative nasopharyngeal RT-PCR test result together with valid IDs should be presented prior to boarding the aircraft bound for ZC.
The same requirement is imposed on all Zamboanga-bound passengers via land or sea.
An ammendment to Executive Order 643-2021 entitled the Zamboanga City COVID-19 Guidelines for Interzonal and Intrazonal Movement of Persons will be issued shortly.
Primary goal of this move is to restrict movement at this time in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases in the country.
Meanwhile, passengers affected by the flight suspension from March 29 to 31, 2021 will be swabbed upon arrival in Zamboanga City at the expense of the Local government.
The LGU will impose administrative sanctions, and if warranted, will institute criminal cases to prosecute those found guilty violating these provisions.
