It's , so here's a fabulous addition to nostalgia.

Dating back to the 1950's and found hanging on the wall of the Helwith Bridge Inn next door, this wonderful photo shows just how popular the hamlet has been in recent history and what our little home looked like before it's rendering and conversion.

Eagle-eyed viewers will see at least one door that isn't there now!

Yorkshire folk don’t only have their own culture and lifestyle, they also have their own language and for those who travel to the region from elsewhere might not understand half of Yorkshire slang, dialect and sayings - we are here to dissect it for you.

Together Duncan and Hamish have co-written a large body of new folk music inspired by Highland landscapes and heritage. This series of concerts will feature much of this music, together with traditional tunes performed on fiddle, piano and flute.

We are delighted that Ribblehead features in The Times list of Britain's loveliest stations (published yesterday).

Sitting in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park’s stunning Three Peaks district, Ribblehead is a favoured stop off for walkers, cyclists, mountain bikers and tourists looking to take in the spectacular views.

Many passengers feel a sharp sense of anticipation as they approach Ribblehead and the world-famous Ribblehead Viaduct. Keen photographers may wish to alight at the station and find the best viewpoint to capture the perfect image of the 100ft high viaduct with its 24 arches.

The lovely Ribblehead Station has a café, shop, visitor centre with exhibitions and waiting room.

You can even stay the night or a few! The beautifully restored Station Master’s House is available as self-catering holiday accommodation for up to four people.

Why not hop on a train and pop along to Ribblehead this summer? We look forward to welcoming you there.

Our limited edition hampers proved a great success on board yesterday’s Settle-Carlisle Eden Express! The hampers, which featured a selection of produce sourced from businesses that lie along our iconic route, included fantastic homemade tartlets supplied by The Game C**k Inn at Austwick. Landlord Eric, an award-winning classically trained French Chef, is a passionate supporter of the Settle Carlisle Railway CRP and he was up especially early to ensure the freshly baked produce was ready and waiting for collection from his bakery. Our thanks as always to Eric for his incredible support!

Don’t forget, we’re always on the lookout to find local business and community partners that share our vision and values. If you’d like any of your products to be featured in our cafés, visitor centres and on-board trolleys on the Settle-Carlisle Railway and ideally based within a 25 mile radius of our route, please get in touch at: [email protected]

Here at the Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company we are proud that, over the past 30 years, we have encouraged a culture which positively impacts and supports our local communities and businesses, including some of the best local producers in the land.

That’s why we thought it would be a great idea for our guests on board this weekend’s Settle-Carlisle Eden Express to enjoy a selection of some of the finest local produce from businesses that lie in the regions of one of the world’s most iconic railway journeys.

Being passionate about sourcing local produce which we sell from our cafés, visitor centres and on-board trolleys, the team has put together a special limited edition on-board hamper containing a range of brands that reflect the diversity of our lineside produce. Great idea? Aye, we thought so too!

Here’s our spotlight on one of our great local suppliers whose produce is featured in our hamper - The Toffee Shop . If you like the look of this product and tempted to try for yourself, visit the website https://www.thetoffeeshop.co.uk
