One of Europe's most famous roads, the Transfagarasan. A spectacular destination for our European road trip.

This year we did 6000km over 18 days, visiting 11 countries.

This road was amazing for pushing the bike hard through the switchbacks and scraping my boots on the road. An amazing Mecca for motorcyclists.

My top tip: plan to stay on the southern side! Riding south up the hill in the morning meant we were on damp roads with the sun in our faces. Plus the accommodation options looked better...

Just completed: our Norway 2022 tour. 7700km from the UK to Nordkapp and back. The bikes performed admirably. More photos to come!

This was one of my big goals to achieve and Ellie's first motorcycle trip abroad. We took 3.5 weeks to complete the journey and saw some amazing things along the way.

I'm never sure when to change my tyres, but feeling things getting a little squirmy in corners, and with an approx 1500+ mile trip ahead, I'd rather have new tyres now than have to find somewhere to change them half way round.

Honda CB500X

My wife has an older S version. This one seems pretty nippy. Would make a good commuter I think.

You forget just how good the wind protection on the AT is until you ride something else like this. The screen did nothing for wind noise unless I laid on the tank!

First test ride on a Zero motorbike.

I've been waiting years to finally get my leg over a Zero bike. Today I took out the DSR.

I really enjoyed the experience, it's quiet and refined riding. The bike felt planted at all times, if unfortunately a little too small for my six foot self.

Pros:
- Acceleration!
- near silent riding
- environmental impact

Cons:
- cramped riding position for larger riders
- cheap feeling controls
- odd standing position due to low bars

I always measure a bike to Africa twin, and this one doesn't have what it takes to make me love it more. It did remind me of the Triumph Scrambler 1200 o test rode a few years back, just without the top end, which for a bike aimed more at a 500cc equivalent is pretty impressive!

5 years ago today was my first solo motorcycle adventure. Today I was supposed to be heading for Somerset for a weekend on the bike, but an ear infection has put an end to those plans 😔🤒

A slightly grander stopping point for us today on our tour of the North. Whitby Abbey in Whitby, North Yorkshire. Home to Dracula and many a Gothic tale.

Also ticked a few points off of my bucket list. I did a lap of the Oliver's mount circuit, which I used to watch as a child, and rode the Whitby road from Scarborough to Whitby which I've driven many times and always wanted to ride.

The Whitby road is fast for the first half and a little more technical for the latter.

We even stopped of in Thornton-le-dale at the Matthewsons' auction house (home of TV's Bangers and Cash) on the way back for a bit of TV magic 😁
