Stunning images captured on Montsegur, France, holy Cathar stronghold.

The Cathars (from Greek katharos, "pure"), or "Bonne Hommes" (good men/people) were said to have been a Christian sect living in the South of France around the 12th-13th century. They were accused of heresy by the Catholic Church at the time and were genocided under the rule of various popes, especially Pope Innocent III.

We know that the Cathars were grail keeper of the lineage of the Rose and practitioners of the Way - the way of love and light as taught by Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene, who had a large following in France.

The energy of this sacred place is electric, intense, beautiful, overwhelming, freeing.

Come and visit the beautiful Monastery of Montserrat!

This trip includes:
❥ A guided tour of the monastery
❥ A visit to the Black Madonna
❥ 2 nature hikes in surrounding area,
❥ 1 walk in silence and one to Santa Cova where the Black Madonna was found
❥ A guided meditation in a peaceful private spot.

- A ticket to the Black Madonna (we will go up the stairs in the monastery)
- Fee for your guide

What is not included:
- Train ticket from Plaza Espanya to Montserrat

Monastery of Montserrat:

The monastery of Benedictine monks was first founded in 1025 by Oliba (Abbot of Ripoll and Bishop of Vic), however there were various hermitages in Montserrat since the discovery of the Black Madonna in Santa Cova in 880.

Santa Cova:

There are many significant statues by Modernist artists on the path that tell the story of Christ and the Virgin based on the Rosary. It is fact, a pilgrimage in its own right. The walk itself takes around 40-60 minutes.

If you've been following my page for a while, you know how much I love the Monastery of Pedralbes. The place has such serene and calming energy. Of course, that's not all - the gothic monastery has an incredibly rich history of geopolitical influence and of the women who served here as nuns. One of the things I like most about it, is the medicinal herb garden which the nuns stewarded, and the museum which showcases some beautiful art - my favorite painting there being of the .

On Sunday 5 November 2023 we will journey to the monastery and I'll share with you the beautiful history, we will spot feminine iconography and even find the Magdalene in the frescos. I will share more about the architecture.
