When the conditions are right…

Clingmans dome, being the highest point in the state of Tennessee and the highest point of the Smokies, and while we’re at it the highest point of the Appalachian Trail … it tends to create its own weather. Often times you can have a beautiful forecast for the valley, and the Dome will be completely socked in with clouds.

but when the conditions are right, it can be glorious! The sunrise was one of those mornings .
