Just a bit of a "booking" update from Golden Lake:

The next two weekends are open and super affordable (sanctuarylg.com) with our late Autumn rates.

We still have the Christmas and New Year's Eve holidays open, and the house will be decorated for Christmas this year!

The winter weekends are wide open, a perfect time to stay at our house and enjoy the toboggan run at Pokagon.

The summer 2025 season is starting to fill up. About half of the weeks are now spoken for. A 5-night minimum stay gets you and your family/group the best lakeside days for relaxing, kayaking, swimming, reading, and more relaxing.

The first 2.5 weeks of July remain open: Prime family time on the lake!

We will guess that the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society's "Indiana Rail Experience" was a big hit in 2024. And that 2025 looks to be even MORE amazing than ever!

We seem to have become a destination of choice for couples in town to have the experience. We boast three full-sized bedrooms, amazing lakeside views, and a large open-concept living space/kitchen. It's the perfect partner to riding on the rails.

The engines will fire up again in May 2025, and summer, fall, and the holidays will be full of unforgettable railroad experiences, the "once in a lifetime" type that everyone will remember forever. Terry rode on the Wabash Cannonball as a 5-year-old and still remembers that day with his mom.

It’s been a big week on Golden Lake. An amazing new entryway and taking out a large tree(while supplying us with firewood!).

It’s difficult to tell what’s happened here, but those who’ve used our beach will NOT miss the two stumps north of the dock. The shoreline will look better and a few toes won’t get stubbed when the lake is at normal levels.

Before and after… a little sad to see this majestic maple go. But his roots were being naughty with the neighbors’ septic field.

A little before, and after for our entryway. Took out all the various different levels of cement and timbers, and had Brian in his team pour us a new slab with drainage embedded. Will make for sure footing, no step onto the deck, and an opportunity to decorate that area and make it look more inviting.

Before and after! A brand new smooth steepness entryway to the front door and deck! With drainage to handle the rain and its runoff. No one will miss those rotting railroad timbers.

We were honored to provide our house for two scenes in the movie. One of them, a conversation, shows up here in the trailer. The other will surprise those who have stayed at our place! (No spoilers).

We're excited about this movie and grateful for the wonderful people who produced it and took such wonderful care of our place (even though about three dozen people were there for the days of shooting!).

The new king bed is ready for our next guests. The downside of a bed frame now is that these legs angle out slightly … and Carrie and Terry have stubbed their toes on it a few times today. Ouch.

Pokagon just released their 24-25 toboggan run schedule. Running on Saturdays and Sundays December - February and extended days over the four holiday periods.

We are a GREAT place to stay for families who want some winter time “away” while spending a day or two sledding.

One recent guest said, “This is easily a 5-star place. But if you wanted it to be 6 stars, get all king sized beds.”

We love it when our guests offer suggestions to make the Sanctuary a premiere destination.

Today the main floor bedroom, one of four large bedrooms, got a new king bed! So now we have two bedrooms with king beds, one on each floor.

Exciting news! We had the privilege of hosting the production team and cast of Carol Movie at our location! It was amazing to see the behind-the-scenes action and see a musical number filmed in our living room!

From what we've seen, this movie promises to be fantastic and touching. We are looking forward to its release and can't wait to spot our space on the big screen!"

It's Parent Appreciation Day! Here, Aaron Fullan (Solomon) and Matt Moore (Rev. Lynch) rehearse the scene where Solomon's dad confronts him about how he's acting toward his family. In the background, you can see Shannen Fields (Mrs. Lynch) watching them rehearse as she gets her hair and makeup finished.
