Ladakh Zipline has been in operation since 2020. Changpa Travels keeps safety as its number one priority and that is why the zipline was constructed with the help of professional architects. The lines and platforms have been built with the highest standards in India and were tested many times before opening the zipline to the public.
All the equipment used here such as harness, carabiner, helmets and ropes is from the French manufacturer, Petzl.

Changpa Travels also realises that the UT of Ladakh is in a fragile ecosystem and thus respects its sustainable and eco-friendly approach to development. That is why we started this zipline and we hope you also book with us on your trip to Ladakh. See you soon at the zipline platform.

Did you know that Shey was summer capital of Ladakh? The original palace complex has been home to kings of various backgrounds, like Ladakhi, Tibetan, Turco-Mungol. Though now in ruins, but it does have a lot of interesting history to it. And not to forget; the giant copper with gilded gold statue of Shakyamuni Buddha is indeed in Shey Gompa. Many reasons to visit this incredible monument.

There is no dearth of walking trails in Ladakh. This half day hike along side Indus River starts in Basgo village and ends in Alchi. Even at an average altitude of 2700 metres above sea level, it can get really hot. Welcome to the high altitude desert.

“Changpa (nomad) and the Pashmina goats in Ladakh”. One of the finest wool on this planet comes from Changthang region of Ladakh, situated at an average altitude of 4500 metres above sea level. It is truly spectacular to think how the famed pashmina shawl that keeps the cold away comes from one of the most remote locations of Himalayas. A special place in our hearts.

Appreciation to the dedicated medical staff, UT Administration and MP Ladakh

As we all are very well aware of how this virus speeded throughout the world in short span of time. With the spread of the virus in Ladakh our MP Jamyang Tsering Namgail raised the concerns to the MEA and demanded early evacuation of many Ladakhi stranded pilgrims from Iran. In the beginning, the outbreak of this virus in Ladakh had created a panic situation in the community and so much so that people were already seen practicing social distance in Leh city, most of the shops in the city were closed and many people were moved back to their villages. Thereafter, by sensing the gravity of the situation UT Administration announced the Lockdown in both the districts which is still continuing today, except for some essential services. UT Administration successfully evacuated the pilgrims back to their home and are tirelessly working to help the people, students outside Ladakh. With the efforts of our MP JamyangTsering Namgail, Ladakh has facilitated with the medical equipments to combat the COVID 19. It was utmost important to evacuate the stranded patients across India, as the patients are the most vulnerable among all, in addition to their own chronic problems they had to deal with panic of getting sick from this virus as well as mental pressure which could have worsen their health in coming days. It was a sigh of relief that UT Admin. kept patient at their first priority for the evacuation. Many students were also evacuated from the Kota, Rajasthan and govt is gradually working on evacuating the rest of the stranded students. In some parts of Ladakh, Administration started random sampling and doing their best efforts to contain the spread of COVID 19. This was all happened because of having an efficient people like Ka Rigzin Samphel, MP Jamyang Tsering Namgail and other concern medical staff members. I am really amazed by the cooperation of the people who choose to help the govt. in every possible way they could to contain the spread of the virus without caring about their daily earnings and many have come forward to be volunteer, some hotel owners had offered their luxurious properties for quarantine facilities, some young minds have come up with new ideas, innovations and donate their findings to the community, retired doctors also had shown their keen interest to provide their service in the ongoing crisis. Amidst this crisis UT administration took the responsibility to help many outsider workers stranded in the difficult situation. This wouldn’t have been possible without the help of people, frontline workers, efficient people in the Administration and MP. Indeed it shows the perfect coordination between the people and the govt. and this is an examplairy to many other states. Let's all pledge that we will remain committed and united towards building a new prosperous Ladakh...
