We did the unthinkable last year and drove from Chicago to New York for Thanksgiving! Can you say Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade?! You bet we saw it! [South Haven and Saugatuck, Michigan.] This past summer we took a mini trip to Michigan instead of an extensive road trip. It was really nice to be able to see the beauty that is only a few hours drive away. We stayed at and I would completely recommend it if you want a quiet, family friendly location.
