Sad news to report. I just saw Rusben passed away aug 29th. He was a very nice guy and took great care of us at the Charter Club. RIP

So today was the annual meeting, I attended on zoom so I will summarize in case you couldnt attend.
1 Major renovations next year starting around May/June and should take around 2 months. Green and aqua colors. Last major renovation was 2003.
2 Next year we will have to fully fund structural damage due to florida new rule after that condo collapse last year.
3 Complaints about pool area rules- no drinks except water and no food.
4 No one read my question as to why some owners did not get proxies to vote with (myself included).

Today you might have gotten the Charter Clubs annual meeting notice letter. I didnt see the proxy vote form on the hilton exchange website yet. Its very important to keep owners on the board to represent us. Owners have 2 positions and Hilton/collection has 3. Vote

Sailboat are gone and our dock is open for use. Only a little damage from being hit by sailboats and who knows what else in Ian.

Updating some info about the Charter Club. The beached sailboats are still stuck on the docks but they are waiting for Hiltons lawyers to get things going. Most other things are the same. Cant wait to go back in a few weeks.
Update-
And just yesterday the sailboats were removed by crane. One was taken away the other docked. I believe the owner has to pay for the damage and removal costs before getting the boat back.

Did anyone else try to log into the new Hilton owners website. The email today said the Diamond Resorts website shut down today and we have to use the new one with our old log in. I tried but could not get on.

Alert! Property Status Update
As of Saturday, October 15, Charter Club of Naples Bay is open and accepting arrivals. Many of the resort’s amenities are ready for use, including the Poolside Tiki Bar, pool and hot tub. At this time, the waterfront dining deck and boat dock are out of service until repairs are completed. In addition, we are experiencing intermittent cable TV outages in our area that include the Charter Club. The cable TV company is aware and working to bring back services as soon as possible.

If you didnt see the email from Hilton-
Dear Owner,

Hilton Grand Vacations continues to evaluate the damage caused by Hurricane Ian to The Charter Club Resort of Naples Bay. At this time, the property remains closed.

Thankfully, we’ve been able to verify that all Team Members are safe and many have already returned to work at the property. Power has been restored and preliminary reports indicate there was no water intrusion into the units. Storm surge from Naples Bay did, however, cause significant erosion behind the resort, washing away a few feet of the ground surrounding the hot tub. It is unclear at this stage whether this area, which includes the pool deck, is safe for use. As a result, temporary safety fencing will be installed in this location of the resort.

Storm surge also affected the poolside tiki bar, causing some erosion to the outdoor dining section. Operation of this area will be pending a future evaluation. Finally, there was damage to the dock after two sailboats were lifted onto the top of the dock by rising waters. There is noted damage to the dock’s handrails and pilings due to the added weight.

We are all anxious for a thorough property inspection and have secured the services of a third-party restoration company to assess the property and provide any necessary remediation. Once that assessment is completed, we will be able to share more information with you.

Your property association has hurricane insurance, but there is a storm deductible expense, which will be borne by the association. The contractors that have been engaged to assess the damage and begin remediation are working in alignment with the insurance carrier.

To keep you best informed or restoration efforts for your Home Resort, updates from your general manager will be posted every Wednesday to your property’s webpage at member.diamondresorts.com. We hope this keeps you up to date on progress made with each stage of the restoration.

I just heard tonight from a police officer that the Charter Club looks to be in good shape except for the screens on most second and third floor units. Even the trees he said looked good. The area has so much sand and muck in the streets but they are working very fast to clean up.

Just talked with a board member and no water in the units. Mostly screen damage, a few sailboats damaged the new docks and the shoreline rocks were moved. Thank goodness.
