Yesterday I did something I’ve never done before. I flew on a baby plane from Martha’s Vineyard to Boston Logan.

Ever since the untimely passing of Aaliyah I’ve been petrified of these small planes, but I had no choice yesterday.

After a weigh in, of myself and all my bags, the 7 of us passengers handed over all our bags, and joined the two pilots on our baby plane. When I tell you they put bags EVERYWHERE in that plane (the nose, the back, the wings, everywhere!) I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it myself. We had a very brief safety conversation and headed down the tarmac.

Once we took off the view was amazing and I actually got to watch the pilot land from his point of view. I always wondered what the pilot saw while flying, and now I know.

I can’t say I’ll be enthusiastic about another little plane in the future, but at least I’ll know this is not the time to lie about your weight!

When in Chicago we do Chicago things!

I spent the evening at Cloud Gate aka “the bean” enjoying the Chicago summer weather. The artist designed it to blend in with the surroundings and show the beauty of the skyline and clouds. It really was beautiful, minus all the handprints on the sides from touchy tourists.

I’ve been missing from IG for a while, not because I haven’t been traveling, but because I was very sick late last year and early this year. I’m finally on the mend and ready to share my journeys with you again (so be ready for a few months worth of trips).

This past weekend I was coerced by family to join them in the woods of West Virginia. They are lucky I love them, because camping/woods are not my thing.

I must admit, the views were beautiful (my son convinced me to stop at this lookout point because he loves views - as you can see), but I won’t be moving to the mountains anytime soon. And we JUST missed the Pride parade in Berkeley Springs as we drove through.

The southwest really does have its own charm. The air feels different there, and the scenery is phenomenal. I recently spent a few days at the for work and I can honestly say those early morning wake up calls weren’t nearly as bad when you had these views out your balcony. And the food was great, especially at Lincoln Steakhouse and Rita’s Cantina (try the Wagyu burger and Mexican street corn).

Let me tell you about the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, CA! This boutique resort is beautiful and just what’s needed for some self care . Not only is the bed the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve slept in for the past few months, but the view and ambiance is incredible.

From the fire pits scattered throughout the resort, the pools and spa, and the citrus trees (which they encourage you to pick for fresh fruit), you will truly enjoy your stay.

I came home with lemons and oranges, but they also have grapefruit and kumquats.

Every year I try to wait to start watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas songs. This year I made it until Thanksgiving before I took my first trip to Christmas Town in .

We got there early to go on a few rides before walking the park to look at the Christmas lights. We even saw Santa! While the event is called Christmas Town I did spot a few signs recognizing Kwanzaa and Diwali, and I’m sure there were more celebrations I did not see.

My favorite place on the ship.

I was excited to try out the signature balcony hammock on Scarlet Lady. When I tell you I took a two hour nap floating on my balcony….I could have slept there all night.

Make sure you book a balcony room to try a hammock. Keep in mind they have a 330 pound weight limit.

I love views, especially from my one bedroom suite at the Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown, but the bed is a close second when traveling.

I loved that I could leave my blinds open at night to take in the views from my bed and wake up at sunrise. I could even see the Hollywood sign from my bedroom and the Staples Center from my living room.

Which do you like more, great views or a comfortable bed?

I finally made my way to Disneyland Resort’s California Adventure for the first time and fan girled all throughout the Avengers Campus.

I love how the characters wander through the crowd and mingle with guests. Dr. Strange even did a magic show with three ladies while I was there.

I recently took a trip to Los Angeles and stayed on the 56th floor of the InterContinental Downtown Los Angeles in a suite overlooking the Hollywood sign. On my last night there I had to take a few pictures of the view. I can’t be the only one, right?

I finally made my way the Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios this weekend and it was amazing.

Disney is known for not missing details, but they outdid themselves when creating this land. The immersive character experiences were one of the best parts.

I recently had an afternoon to spend in San Francisco before catching a red eye home and decided to explore the city again.

I decided on a big bus tour and a sunset cruise to see the Golden Gate Bridge up close and personal. While the fog made it very difficult to see the bridge (swipe to the end to see my picture with the bridge), the north side of the bay was absolutely beautiful.
