Yesterday, I took a trip down memory lane to my beloved alma mater, Morgan State University, and my heart is so full! 🧡💙 Every time I step foot on this campus, it truly feels like coming home. The familiar sights, the vibrant energy, and the sense of community remind me of the incredible journey I embarked on here.

Morgan State holds a special place in my heart because it’s more than just a university; it’s a family. The friendships I built, the lessons I learned, and the rich history of this HBCU shaped who I am today. HBCUs like Morgan are vital—they empower and uplift Black students, providing a nurturing environment where we can thrive academically and personally.

These institutions are crucial in producing top-tier Black talent who are ready to lead, innovate, and create change in the world. They foster a sense of belonging and pride, and I am forever grateful for the experiences that have helped me grow into the person I am today.

To everyone at Morgan, past and present—thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. Let’s continue to celebrate the impact of HBCUs and uplift our community!✊🏾

We made it to Baltimore City on the Walk to Wall Street, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Whenever I’m in town, I always make a stop at Midnite Confections Cupcakery—seriously, it’s a must! 🍰❤️ Located in the charming Federal Hill neighborhood, this Black-owned gem serves up the most delicious, creative cupcakes that never fail to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Today, I picked up some of their amazing treats, and let me tell you, they are the perfect fuel for our journey! If you're in the area, you’ve got to check them out. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

And hey, if you’re ready to join us, we’ll be walking through the Baltimore Inner Harbor tomorrow at 9:30 AM, starting at the corner of MLK Blvd. and Washington Ave. near Pigtown. Let’s enjoy some good company, beautiful views, and of course, some tasty cupcakes!

Yesterday I did something I’ve never done before. I flew on a baby plane from Martha’s Vineyard to Boston Logan.

Ever since the untimely passing of Aaliyah I’ve been petrified of these small planes, but I had no choice yesterday.

After a weigh in, of myself and all my bags, the 7 of us passengers handed over all our bags, and joined the two pilots on our baby plane. When I tell you they put bags EVERYWHERE in that plane (the nose, the back, the wings, everywhere!) I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it myself. We had a very brief safety conversation and headed down the tarmac.

Once we took off the view was amazing and I actually got to watch the pilot land from his point of view. I always wondered what the pilot saw while flying, and now I know.

I can’t say I’ll be enthusiastic about another little plane in the future, but at least I’ll know this is not the time to lie about your weight!

When in Chicago we do Chicago things!

I spent the evening at Cloud Gate aka “the bean” enjoying the Chicago summer weather. The artist designed it to blend in with the surroundings and show the beauty of the skyline and clouds. It really was beautiful, minus all the handprints on the sides from touchy tourists.

I’ve been missing from IG for a while, not because I haven’t been traveling, but because I was very sick late last year and early this year. I’m finally on the mend and ready to share my journeys with you again (so be ready for a few months worth of trips).

This past weekend I was coerced by family to join them in the woods of West Virginia. They are lucky I love them, because camping/woods are not my thing.

I must admit, the views were beautiful (my son convinced me to stop at this lookout point because he loves views - as you can see), but I won’t be moving to the mountains anytime soon. And we JUST missed the Pride parade in Berkeley Springs as we drove through.
