🇺🇸 A view of the Conciergerie, the former courthouse and prison where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned, tried, and convicted.

When you visit, be sure to also visit the Sainte Chapelle , the Royal chapel next door,.

These are located on île de la Cité, one of the islands in the Seine.

🇺🇸 I recently mentioned that I’m a wimp when it comes to going out in the rain, but thanks to and , I was encouraged to join them to capture these sunset photos after a good rain.

Paris is actually the perfect city to capture in the rain, or after the rain. Of course I know I’m biased, but Paris is beautiful in any light.

🇫🇷 J'ai récemment mentionné que j'étais une mauvie quand il s'agissait de sortir sous la pluie, mais grâce à et , j'ai été encouragé à les rejoindre pour capturer ces photos de coucher de soleil après une bonne pluie.

Paris est en fait la ville idéale à photographier sous la pluie ou après la pluie. Bien sûr, je sais que je suis partial, mais Paris est belle sous tous les angles.

🇺🇸 One of my favorite things about living in Paris is access to boulangeries in just about every corner. To be honest, I’ve never been much of a bread lover. But it’s impossible to pass by a boulangerie with the aromas of freshly baked baguettes and croissants wafting out and not be tempted. Plus there’s the amazing French butter on my kitchen counter, waiting for a freshly baked, warm baguette.

🇫🇷 L’une des choses que je préfère dans la vie à Paris est l’accès aux boulangeries à presque tous les coins de rue. Pour être honnête, je n’ai jamais été un grand amateur de pain. Mais il est impossible de passer devant une boulangerie avec les arômes de baguettes et de croissants fraîchement sortis du four et de ne pas se laisser tenter. De plus, il y a l’incroyable beurre français sur le comptoir de ma cuisine, en attente d’une baguette chaude fraîchement sortie du four.

🇺🇸 Did you know there are about 20 carousels dotted around Paris? I love the vintage ambiance of these carousels. This one is located in the children’s area of the Jardin des Tuileries.

When was the last time you rode a carousel? For me, it was in 2019 in Madrid. 🎠

🇫🇷 Saviez-vous qu'il existe une vingtaine de manèges disséminés dans Paris ? J'adore l'ambiance vintage de ces carrousels. Celui-ci est situé dans l’espace enfants du Jardin des Tuileries.

🇺🇸 Part 2/4 from my visit during

(I almost forgot I had more photos to share.) 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is a centre for artistic training and experimentation, an exhibition and conservation centre for historical and contemporary collections, and a publishing house.

One my favorite spaces is the cour vitrée, the glazed courtyard with a glass roof that you see in these photos. The building is inspired by the Palaces of the Italian Renaissance.

L'un de mes espaces préférés est la cour vitrée, la cour vitrée avec une verrière que vous voyez sur ces photos. Le bâtiment s'inspire des palais de la Renaissance italienne.

🇺🇸 “Actually, Paris is the most beautiful in the rain”. (a quote from the movie ‘Midnight in Paris’)

A lot of Paris photographers might agree with you. There are some who are experts at puddle photography. I am admittedly a wimp in the rain. I either stay home or opt for indoor activities.

But believe it or not, my first visit to Paris was for just 2 short days in December 2007 and it rained the entire time. I had wet, cold feet (I only wore my Converse). However it didn’t keep my from exploring the city on foot and of course falling in love with Paris.

So my #1 tip for your time in Paris… Always carry a tote with an umbrella inside…just in case. Oh yeah, please don’t pay too much attention to the forecast either. It’s often wrong.

Beaucoup de photographes parisiens pourraient être d’accord avec vous. Certains sont des experts en photographie de ‘puddles’. Je suis certes une mauviette sous la pluie. Soit je reste à la maison, soit j'opte pour des activités en salle.

Mais croyez-le ou non, ma première visite à Paris n'a duré que deux jours en décembre 2007 et il a plu tout le temps. J'avais les pieds mouillés et froids (je ne portais que mes Converse). Cependant cela ne m’a pas empêché de découvrir la ville à pied et bien sûr de tomber amoureux de Paris.

Alors mon conseil n°1 pour votre séjour à Paris… Ayez toujours un fourre-tout avec un parapluie à l'intérieur… juste au cas où. Oh oui, s’il vous plaît, ne faites pas trop attention aux prévisions non plus. C’est souvent faux.

🇺🇸 Happy Sunday my friends! Here’s a few snapshots looking in through the window.

When we think about looking through windows, it’s usually about looking out through the window to the world outside. However before living in Paris, I always imagined what was going on inside the windows. Of course I wasn’t snapping photos inside people’s apartments but the light in the window always made me wonder what living here would be like.

Now I’m on the inside, but I still like peering in.

Lorsque nous pensons à regarder à travers les fenêtres, il s’agit généralement de regarder par la fenêtre vers le monde extérieur. Mais avant de vivre à Paris, j'ai toujours imaginé ce qui se passait à l'intérieur des fenêtres. Bien sûr, je ne prenais pas de photos à l’intérieur des appartements des gens, mais la lumière dans la fenêtre me faisait toujours me demander à quoi ressemblerait la vie ici.

Maintenant, je suis à l’intérieur, mais j’aime toujours regarder à l’intérieur.

🇺🇸 Happy Friday my friends! Today I share with you the beautiful flowers of the Jardin des Tuileries.

An incredible place to go for a walk, the Tuileries Garden are located between the and Place de la Concorde and is literally an open air museum with statues by Maillol, Rodin or Giacometti. However, the flower beds are worth noting as well.

🇫🇷 Bon vendredi mes amis! Aujourd'hui je partage avec vous les belles fleurs du Jardin des Tuileries.

Lieu de promenade incroyable, le jardin des Tuileries se situe entre le et la place de la Concorde et est littéralement un musée à ciel ouvert avec des statues de Maillol, Rodin ou Giacometti. Cependant, les parterres de fleurs méritent également d'être remarqués.

🇫🇷 Merci à .france et pour la balade photo afin de tester de nouveaux appareils photo et objectifs. J'ai pu m'entraîner avec le a7CR ainsi qu'une variété d'objectifs. L'objectif utilisé dans ces clichés est le Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM.

Non seulement j'ai pu m'entraîner avec un nouvel appareil photo et un nouvel objectif, mais j'ai également pu découvrir un nouveau quartier de Paris dans le 13ème arrondissement.

🇺🇸 Thank you to .france and for the photo walk to test out some new cameras and lenses. I got to practice with the a7CR along with a variety of lenses. The lens used in these shots is the Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM.

Not only did I get to practice with a new camera and lens, I also got to discover a new area of Paris in the 13th arrondissement.

🇺🇸 Hôtel de Ville has no shortage of grand hallways with dazzling chandeliers. And of course it would have enough space for all of these since it’s the the largest municipal building in Europe.

Fortunately I was able to access the interior during the

I’m not sure I’ll be welcomed back though as I was the last one out of each room to get these shots. All I heard throughout my visit was “avance”.

🇺🇸 A walk through Place des Vosges, one of my favorite squares in Paris.

Place des Vosges is considered the oldest ‘planned’ square in Paris and is located in the Marais neighborhood.

This is a lovely place to stroll through the arcades, picnic in the garden in the center of the square, or visit the apartment of Victor Hugo, which is now a museum.

🇫🇷 Une promenade sur la Place des Vosges, une de mes places préférées à Paris.

La Place des Vosges est considérée comme la plus ancienne place « planifiée » de Paris et est située dans le quartier du Marais.

🇺🇸 Just another lovely day in Paris. I don’t know another city that, even on a basic day, with nothing interesting to do, can still be so interesting…either because it’s charming, or grand, or eclectic…or just because it’s Paris. (Thanks for bearing with me through that very long, never ending sentence)

Honestly though, this is just my opinion. What city gives you the same feeling?

🇺🇸 Parks of Paris

Parc Monceau is a beautiful park located in the 8th arrondissement

The park is mostly frequented by locals going for a walk or run or with their kids riding bikes or ponies. Yes, I said ponies….real live ones, not just the carrousel. There are also okay areas for the children.

There are nine gates entrances so don’t worry if you’re not sure where to enter, just continue following around the park and you’ll be sure to come upon an entrance.

Le Parc Monceau est un magnifique parc situé dans le 8ème arrondissement

Le parc est principalement fréquenté par les habitants qui se promènent ou courent ou avec leurs enfants qui font du vélo ou des poneys. Oui, j’ai dit des poneys… des vrais vivants, pas seulement le carrousel. Il y a aussi des zones correctes pour les enfants.

Il y a neuf portes d’entrée, alors ne vous inquiétez pas si vous ne savez pas par où entrer, continuez simplement à suivre le parc et vous serez sûr de tomber sur une entrée.

I was able to see the Bibliothèque Mazarine, the Cupola, and the Session Halls of the Academies. During the @jepofficiel European Heritage Days, the visits are open to the public, they’re free of charge, and no reservations are required. 🇺🇸 This is France! Annecy is a charming town right on the border of Switzerland. There are plenty of activities for everyone in the family. With its beautiful lake known for being the cleanest in Europe, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy it…from swimming, peddle boats, SUP, kayaking, and even sailing. For those who prefer land, there are plenty of hiking trails and horseback riding as well. It’s easy enough to fly into Geneva and take a bus into Annecy. Or you can take the train from Gare de Lyon in Paris or drive down. 🇫🇷 C’est la France ! Annecy est une charmante ville à la frontière suisse. Il y a beaucoup d’activités pour tout le monde dans la famille. Avec son magnifique lac connu pour être le plus propre d’Europe, il existe de nombreuses possibilités d’en profiter... de la baignade, du pédalo, du SUP, du kayak et même de la voile. Pour ceux qui préfèrent la terre, il existe de nombreux sentiers de randonnée et d’équitation. Il est assez facile de voler jusqu’à Genève et de prendre un bus jusqu’à Annecy. Of course that’s a very fitting description as this mausoleum houses the remains of some of the greats… Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Émile Zola, Jean Moulin, Louis Braille, Jean Jaurès and Marie Curie. Did you know you could also go to the top of the Pantheon to get this amazing panoramic view of Paris.
