Travel Tips for you today: ā˜€ļøšŸ˜ŽšŸ„‚
I have come to realize there is a sweet spot for booking trips. So many times I have clients reach out for trips more than a 12 or 18 months out…Honestly, it’s just too far. Cruises, I suppose can book pretty far out….But you’re still going to have to wait on the flights. Really, what I recommend to people is ~8-10 months prior for Europe/overseas trips. ~4-8 months out for Caribbean/Mexico resorts. ~4 months for domestic (pending the dates aren’t over holidays or any big event that causes hotel compression. (That’s where prices skyrocket for a radius of hotels for a big event even if the event is many miles away. Like Cheyenne Frontier Days, or CSU graduation or the Greeley Stampede, or giant sporting tournaments…)

But most of all---for flights, I highly recommend using the google flight tracker since the analytics are becoming very transparent on when the best time to book is…I use it for our personal travels, and I use it for clients when they give me a VERY broad date range to figure out when the best travel times are! Work smarter, not harder!

Have a great weekend everyone!!😘

āœˆļøšŸļøTruth Time. Being a business owner…It’s not all exciting and I tell myself a lot I want to quit. This business has gotten a lot busier than I expected which is a huge blessing. But the more clients I get, the more risk I take on, and that comes with stress. I’m always holding my breath when a client travels because while trip issues may not be my fault, the pressure still comes down on my head at the drop of a dime. Some days aren’t fun; literally some days end in tears and frustration. But building this from the ground up has been so rewarding and a little addicting to continue to challenge myself and see the growth. I am forever thankful for all the friends and family and past clients who continue to refer others to me. šŸ“šŸŒŽļøšŸ©±

What it’s like to book with me: After you reach out, I start working on your quotes. Depending on the trip, this can either be an immediate turnaround or roughly a week…maybe 2 if we’re in the busy season! Once you have time to make a few decisions, we start to narrow down the final package. Again, depending on the trip, this can take a 30-minute phone call, or 1-2 months of emailing back and forth to fully customize every piece that you want! When it’s time to lock in, I take your booking information, passport info, and payment details. Usually it’s only a deposit up front, but some cases, it can be full pay. Funds never go through me. You’ll always be charged directly through the company we choose for you.

Then you just wait for time to pass for your departure date in excited anticipation! I’ll make sure you are sent off without any last-minute questions. I’ll be here all along the way as you travel. And I might ask for a review at the end. But if you ever rebook a future trip with me, I have all of your information going forward. So the whole process becomes much easier and streamlined.

I saw this quote recently that made so much sense. Roughly 90% of peoples’ joy comes from anticipation. The anticipation of looking forward to an event. It explains so much about why we get excited for vacations and always buy new outfits, go on crash diets, keep countdowns on our phones. For sure the vacation itself is amazing. But there’s something about having it booked out front so you can be excited over and over again and keep yourself motivated through the daily mundane.

Passport renewal has recently become a whole lot easier! The State Department has launched a fully operational online passport renewal system. This new system bypasses the traditional paper application process, saving time and hassle. It’s available for most adult passport holders whose passports expire within 5 years (past or future).
No more printing forms, mailing documents, or writing checks! This digital portal aims to make the renewal process as efficient and convenient as possible. Note, this service isn’t available for children’s passports, first time applicants, or those living abroad.

As a small business owner, I really strive to respond as quickly as I can. I am not a person who is patient to wait for responses myself, and I like to give my clients the courtesy of not waiting long either! Time is valuable in the travel industry because sometimes prices can fluctuate drastically, and slow email responses can make or break your trip costs!

šŸŒļøFor the last few years, repeatedly, the busiest time of year for the travel business is Christmastime and the New Year. I’m guessing families are together and wanting to plan their big trip for the upcoming year. Or a lot of engagements happen at Christmas, and the honeymoon planning commences. Or just people finally take a few days off to relax and realize that they have a spare moment to reach out and get the wheels turning for a vacation. Whatever it is---January and February have been full overload for me in the past.šŸ˜… BRING IT ON 2025!!! šŸ“øFeaturing Charlie who is giving me a little bit of Gerard Butler "This is Sparta" vibes. 🤩

šŸ¾Kicking off the year, I wanted to share a few numbers with you to both celebrate the milestones but also be transparent with my past and future clients about supporting my small business! Since I started back in March 2021, I’ve booked over half a million dollars in travel costs. $503,226.71 to be exact. And almost 40% of that was just in 2024! šŸŽ‰This would have never been possible without an army behind me to pass along the referrals. Cheers to you!šŸ¤
Here’s to the new year, new travels, and cherished memories to keep forever!

šŸ¾Closing out 2024 with a day-in-the-life as a Travel Advisor:
Top things I spend my time on:
1. Running quotes for clients. Sometimes the packages are easy to build through my agent inventory. Sometimes, I have to work with other suppliers to help customize a trip.
2. Social media planning---literally my least favorite part about the business! A necessary evil for a small business, but I just want to stay current. Most of my leads come through the website, word of mouth, and wedding vendors!
3. Coordinating between suppliers and clients any questions, details, documentations, and logistics before they travel.

Cheers to 2025. May the new year bring you many opportunities for travel. šŸ›«šŸŒļø

People tell us all the time this picture looks photoshopped that we have hanging in our house. I 100% guarantee you they aren’t even though I married a photographer who very well could have done so! We aren’t ones to revisit vacation spots usually, but we definitely would go back to this area!
