Our place looks even cozier all dressed up in snow! It dumped over the weekend and there is SO much snow in our yard to play with! We built a sweet sledding ramp and a snow fort yesterday!

The Camp Golden Bear version of a guestbook is our “Letters from Camp” bulletin board! We love reading notes our guests have left. And there’s plenty of adorable pictures from the kids too! Lots of happy campers in this house!

Happy New Year from Camp Golden Bear! 2021 was definitely a HUGE year for us and we cannot wait to host many happy families in the new year. Every day we are grateful for this home and the beautiful wilderness that surrounds us. Wishing you a beautiful 2022.

With all the recent snowfall lately, there is PLENTY of snow to play in at ! Our family is up here for the weekend and we spent the morning building a ramp for our little sledding hill. Enjoying lots of winter fun!

We’re are finishing a long list of little details on the house but soooo close to being done! A lot of work and a lot of love have gone into Camp Golden Bear. We can’t wait to share this special place with you all. Mark your calendars for November if your looking for a fun place to stay in Tahoe!

We had our first big snow and a little early this year. We also got our new fence in the backyard just in time before the storm. What do you think of the new redwood fence we put in?

Fall is most certainly here at Camp Golden Bear. The aspens are at our favorite time too. Can you believe these colors? Our plan is to get more growing along the new fence line we are putting in too. Can not wait for the big reveal coming soon. I just finished this part of the fence today before the rains came to Tahoe.

Painted oars! From the original design conception of the primary suite, we knew we wanted to hang a set of decorative oars over the bed. decided to take on this fun project! A couple of plain wooden oars plus some tape, paint, and patience, and we have these custom oars that perfectly match the look and feel of the room. We attached them to the wall using some hangers she made from leather straps and gold screw caps. We love how they look on our new green feature wall built by and designed by . This room is soooooo close to being done…can’t wait to for others to enjoy this colorful, relaxing retreat.

Some exciting woodwork is going down in the primary suite! This triangular goodness is the beginning of a wall feature designed by for this room. We wanted to make a bold statement with color, and she nailed it with this idea. It's going to look amazing once it's all done!

The Primary Bedroom has been getting a complete overhaul and today we’re laying down some gorgeous white oak floors. They add just the right amount of rustic to this room. It’s already feeling so much lighter and brighter in here thanks to the newly re-textured walls and coats of white paint. Can’t wait to show you what we’ve got planned for that space in the middle of the wall!

I started a very fun project this weekend! Our sore thumb-of-a-fireplace here at Camp Golden Bear is getting a makeover! The ornate marble fireplace (swipe to see the before) is big and overwhelming and looks extremely out of place in our Lake Tahoe home. We plan to remove it once we remodel the living room in a future phase of renovation, but for now, it’s getting a fun paint job! We decided on a bold blue for the mantle and central part of the fireplace, and I’ll be painting a Scandinavian/Nordic folk art-inspired design onto it! Think Swiss chalet/Arendelle vibes. Can’t wait to paint those details this weekend!

We have lots of renovation updates to share, but I’m still obsessed with this photo taken just after the primary bathroom tile was installed. The light from the new picture window is 🙌. This tile color is very aptly named “Tahoe.” Shower fixtures are almost completely installed and glass is going up too!

Went thrifting today and came home with an amazing haul of goodies for Camp Golden Bear! I’m on the hunt for vintage-y camp-related goods to decorate the house. I also scored (pun intended) some sweet vintage board games to stock the game closet. Can’t wait to take these items up to Tahoe! Preparations to get the house rent-ready are moving swiftly and there are some exciting renovations to share! Keep your eyes on our stories to watch the progress!!
