A lifelong dream of mine has finally come true! I literally jumped and yelled when I saw Oswald down the street. Oswald was Walt’s first animation love and “his character” long before Mickey or even Mortimer! After a very long time Disney company finally got the rights to Oswald and he is in Disneyland where he has always belonged. Meeting him was such an incredible experience and I loved every second of it! Check out my reels to see a clip of our interaction, she was so cute! 😍

🚨PSA!!!🚨 The rain in Florida is REAL! It will downpour and get you soaked in about .03 seconds and you don’t want to be caught waiting outside your Oga’s reservation without rain gear and no where to go. (Ask me how I know ☔️)

Here is what you should make sure you have for everyone in the family-
🧥Rain jacket or Pocho. Tip, buy one size up from your typical size so your backpack fits underneath it as well. 😉 Typically I am team rain jacket and you can find fantastic deals on them in the clearance sections of Target. But when I am on the scooter I need something larger I can throw over the steering column of the scooter and wear and the adult size ponchos are great for this.

☂️ Umbrellas. Yes I know you have a poncho but really the umbrella is so nice to have to protect your face when it’s coming in sideways and you can’t see.

🧽Microfiber Towels. You can see one laying on the back of my chair there. These towels dry FAST but hold a ton! You will likely get wet at some point during your park days and having one of these on hand makes things much more comfortable. I got this one from my local Walmart for $2.

The last thing I do on my work trips is spend an hour or two in MK before my flight. It’s one last reminder of why I’m here.

Today I stopped by Roy and Minnie. Walt had a vision but Roy brought it to life! This beautiful escape in Florida is unlike any other and I love that it’s such a huge part of my life. ❤️ Thanks Roy for making this happen!

Here are my tips for navigating the parks in the rain. ☔️

1. Bring an umbrella- I know it might seem like a lot to carry around, but they have some really great portable ones, like the one I have in this picture. This will make it so much easier to keep going when it starts to down pour out of nowhere.

2. Use a rain jacket- You want to make sure it's light weight because, most times, in Florida it's still hot and muggy and the last thing you want is to get over-heated. I like to size up so that my backpack can be worn underneath it to keep it dry too. The rain doesn't always come straight down so you want something long that will cover a lot of your body.

3. Bring a small microfiber towel. If you have a stroller you might want a larger beach towel size, but I find the small hand towel size ones work well, most of the time. I love having these towels because they dry super quick when you hang them up in the bathroom overnight. They hold a lot of water and dry really well when my legs, or scooter starts getting wet.

4. Bring at least 2 pairs of shoes- I highly recommend 2 pairs even if it doesn't rain. But if it does, you will want to have two pairs so you can switch them out and not get blisters. Crocs or sandals are also a very popular choice for the parks in the rain since they dry out much faster and are less likely to leave blisters if they wet.

One of the biggest things that draws families to the Disney parks are the Characters you can find there. But finding those characters can be hard for some families. Unfortunately, sometimes the characters get called away to fairytale land and cannot appear some days. On average, we can predict where most of the appearing characters will be with the help of the My Disneyland and My Disney Experience Apps. Learning to use those apps before you are in the parks can help you track and prioritize the characters that are important to your family. Don’t over pack your morning with rides, most characters are out in the morning and early afternoon and won’t return in the late afternoon and evening so keep that in mind as you are planning out your day.
My favorite way to fit characters into the trip is to do a character meal. The best days for character meals are rest days or your check out day. It gives you something to look forward to on the day you aren’t in the parks and you get to see characters without waiting in line and while you are already planning on sitting down to eat. It also gives children who are more shy an out to not feel pressured to get up close to or hug a character if they want more space. Make sure to explain the characters and let the kids know they will be coming around so that no one is surprised in a bad way. Some kids need to know ahead of time if a character is nearby.

Preferred rooms have amazing views and take your room/stateroom from just a place to stay to an experience that enhances the way you start and end each day. 👸 It can also make it easier to slow down and enjoy the room and resort you are staying in so you can truly rest and not feel rushed to get out of the room. 😊Most times it also means you are closer to all the things that are most important to your trip- closer to the dining locations, transportation, shopping and other amenities. We take vacations to relax and refresh ourselves, so it just makes sense to choose a room that is going to help you do just that. 💆‍♀️
