It’s today we celebrate all tour guides.

When booking a trip with us, you’ll be sure to meet many passionate and expert guides.

We work with Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers in every national park. They assist our guides to give clients detailed knowledge on the park and the species that call it home.

We also work with local handpicked guides across Uganda who are expert in their local areas, because who else is better to introduce to new places than the local people themselves…

As we continue to celebrate we shine a spotlight on Carlos.

Carlos most recently took the Whybrow family on an 8 day trip around Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth and Kibale national parks.

Here’s what they had to say “Carlos was an absolute gentleman and always wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. He was an experienced guide and this showed when he tweaked the timings of some planned activities to ensure a good balance of rest and activity”

Carlos also brings over a decade of experience, first starting as an overland tour driver, taking clients across southern and east Africa.

Today is international tourist guide day. This is Karim, a Lalu guide with well over a decade of experience as a guide taking clients across Uganda and other African countries.

Karim is a lucky charm when finding cats and hyenas on safari.

Today and everyday we are grateful to our team of guides who graciously take care of clients as they travel through Uganda 🇺🇬🧡🦒

Do you dare?😳

Jinja, East Africa’s adventure capital offers a white water rafting experience that rafters from all over the world come to explore.

A full day white water rafting begins with a breakfast on the Nile and a fun training session before you take on 9 rapids. Taking in the beauty and peace of the river Nile in between those heart pounding trips through the rapids. Finishing off with a beer and bbq on the shores of the river.

We love white water rafting because it’s the perfect family bonding time that adds a dash of something extra to your safari holiday.

Have you been lucky enough to see the rainbow at Murchison Falls?

This famous rainbow is regularly visible (as long as the sun is shining 🌞) and adds a gentle touch to the thundering falls.

This rainbow sparked a conversation over what really is at the end of a rainbow? A pot of gold? A big snake?
An angry leprechauns? All we know is it felt magical

Introducing Murchison Falls

There are two options for viewing the falls. The first is to hike! At the top you can see the water making its way through the gorge – this gorge is often called the “devil’s cauldron”. The hike takes about 45 minutes.

Another option is to view Murchison Falls from a boat safari, which will take you as close to the falls as possible from below. You’ll also get close and personal to hippos during this ride.

How does travelling make you feel?

Free? Empowered? Energised? Happy? Grateful?

Thanks to our client Rita for these beautiful shots. Your pictures make us feel like it’s much more fun to love the world than to be afraid of it.

Roadside snacks are our thing.

It may not seem like an obvious place for it, but the street food scene in Uganda is live and kicking. Town centres, bus stations and roadsides are full of chapatis, grilled chicken, roasted maize, cassava, plantain and mendazis. You’ll also find a glorious bounty of fruit and vegetables – Including avocados bigger than your hand and fruits you’ve never seen before.

We love and we hope you’ll embrace it too.

Ever thought about a hot air balloon safari? We think they are the perfect add on to your trip.

Hot air balloon flights depart at sunrise, so be prepared for a very early wake-up call.... You'll be airborne before you know it, just in time to catch the spectacular sunrise from your bird's-eye view vantage point.

From the balloon, you can spot herds of zebra, running gazelles, and even predators hunting. The African landscape that will look even more magical from the basket of your balloon.

It’s - Fancy hanging out with this guy?

Uganda is home to about 5,000 chimps. Almost 1,500 are found in Kibale National Park, the most popular place for chimp tracking in the country.

You can also track chimps in Kyambura Gorge, Kalinzu Forest, Budongo Forest and in the Semliki Valley.

Salongo doesn’t mess around when it comes to finding the big cats on safari. We love having him as well our driver because he gets just as excited as our clients when searching for lions in the national parks!

This weekend we stayed at - clients have been increasingly interested in MRL so we thought we’d check it out ourselves!

We loved the spacious rooms/tents, clean environment, eco-centric design, sunset deck and swimming pool!

This place is made for families and perfect for our smallest adventurers.

It’s position means hippos visit to graze at night. We laid in bed hearing them chomp and stomp throughout the night, making it an unforgettable safari experience.

Would you fancy a night here?

Meet the majestic Ugandan kob! They are often seen while on safari prancing throughout the Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls National Park.

The Ugandan kob is also a national symbol of Uganda and is featured on the Ugandan coat of arms along with the Ugandan crested crane.
