Molokini Crater
While we saw these fish while I was snorkeling the Molokini Crater in abundance, you can find them throughout the ocean waters of Hawai'i.
🐟 This is the Humuhumu'ele'ele (black triggerfish or black durgon). They're kind of shaped like a blimp and they have bright white markings. They appear all black but when you get up close, especially if it is really sunny out and you're close to the surface in clear water, you can see that they are really mottled dark-blue/green, with a touch of orange toward the front of the head.
🤿 Always snorkel with a buddy and in designated areas only. Use a floation device and fins. Watch for currents . Don't go out in murky or churned up water and avoid dusk/dawn. Never touch or feed sea life and keep your distance. It's a peaceful, experience - a rare gift - and you must remember to honor the life and the sea.
☀️You can rent snorkel gear just about anywhere on the islands. Personally, I like to travel with my own mask and snorkel and rent the fins (a must).

Aulani Activity Ears
There is so much to do at Aulani, you could be there a week and still not do it all!
One of my favorite activities was to make my very own Mickey Ears! This was a paid activity and there are two levels of ears available - regular and with lights.
You get to pick from a variety of flowers and bows in all different colors and sizes as well as some cute replica koa wood charms. I picked out honu (turtle). The greenery is provided as well.
You must make a reservation to do this, it is quite popular! I can help you make these well in advance of your trip.
You sit down in groups at a table in the Pau Hana Room located on the ground floor. They provide glue guns and ample amount of glue sticks.
You have an hour to bring your ears to life. It was the perfect amount of time. I did this class as soon as I arrived which worked out perfectly!

Aulani
This is your view right on the lanai which is directly opposite the front entrance. Everything you see before is the pool area which is quite extensive and the beach is directly beyond. It is a tranquil, beautiful and a wonderful welcome to the world of Aulani.
Aulani offers some amazing discounts this winter, if you've always wanted to go - now is a great time to do it.

Hawai'i is a dreamy destination, brimming with culture, beauty, relaxation and exciting things to do. Just back from a 10 day trip to Oahu and it's just as magical as ever.
☀️☀️
Oahu is the most populated island in the state of Hawai'i and is home to the capital Honolulu.
🌴🌴
There are many places to visit and stay on the island, this trip I visited the leeward side (western side) of the island and visited: Waikīkī, Honolulu, and Ko Olina.
🚘🚘
All of these destinations were within a 30 minute drive from the airport (give or take a few minutes for traffic).

Molokini Crater
Aloha Friday! Swimming with these lil' guys is so much fun! They are bountiful in the waters around Molokini Crater which is off of Maui. They just jaunt along with their friends without a care in the world. Getting lost under the sea with them is dreamy.
