Safety Tips When Traveling With Your Children
Traveling with children is a wonderful way to increase their knowledge of the world around them…but traveling can also be dangerous!
While training to become a certified Travel Agent, I came across “Safety Tips” for parents traveling with children. Wow the info was a real eye opener!! It talked about things to watch out for on public transportation, at the hotels, at tourist attractions, and in foreign countries!! Things that many parents may not even think about!!
Honestly, some of these things I never thought about until I read the info. The training also provided ways to prevent these potential hazards. Because it is quite a bit of information, I will Post one Safety Tip each day OR I can send you the complete guide for FREE…. Let me know if you want a copy!!
If one child is kept safe because of this vital information I will be happy, but of course the more the better!! Please help me get the word out to as many parents as possible!!
Safety Tip #1 In the event the oxygen masks are deployed, parents MUST put theirs on FIRST. Contrary to what most parents would think, it is much advisable to put an adult’s mask first before their child.
Why? for practical reasons. There would be a greater chance of saving both your lives not just your child’s. If the adult puts the oxygen mask on their children first, it will take only few seconds for hypoxia to come over wherein episodes of confusion or passing out will happen. A child, especially smaller ones, will be of no help once you pass out. This is one very good reason why you must put on your mask first.
When we know better, we do better!!
