Since the very foundation of Tripseed, in travel and tourism has always been one of our biggest passions; from tackling racial equality within Thailand's DMC landscape, to our efforts to make Thailand travel more accessible and inclusive, and our commitments to drive forward gender equality and empowerment.

Happy International Women's Day! Today we celebrate the incredible achievements of women around the world and recognise the important role they play in shaping our society. Within the travel industry, women have made significant contributions and continue to pave the way for future generations.

One shining example of this is the rise of female-led tour companies. Many female-led travel companies are breaking barriers and challenging the status quo. They are leading the charge in creating more inclusive and diverse travel experiences for all.

Of course, we must also recognise the challenges that women face within the travel industry. While women account for around 54% of tourism employees worldwide and are well represented in entry level service and clerical jobs, they still face discrimination and harassment, particularly in male-dominated fields. When it comes to senior levels of management and business ownership, there is a lot of progress that we must all strive to create. Women continue to push back against these barriers, and their resilience and determination are an inspiration to us all.

As Thailand's only destination management company that is majority owned and led by local women, it has always been at our very core to break down these glass ceilings and provide opportunity and equity for all. As of the time of this post, 70% of Tripseed is owned and led by women, and we have absolute parity in salaries between male and female employees at the same levels of employment. And while we are still a small, but rapidly growing business, we are completely committed to maintaining diversity, equity and inclusiveness across all areas of our business as it is something that we are so deeply, and personally, passionate about.

So, on this International Women's Day, let us celebrate the incredible achievements of women within the travel industry and beyond. Let us continue to support and uplift women in all their endeavors, and work together to create a more equitable and inclusive world. Happy travels to all!
