Yesterday, I went diving with Andrea Dec, and so far, it has been the best dive of 2023 for me. During the entire 78 minutes, we didn't stop taking photographs for even a second. It was an absolutely incredible experience. I hoped to see at least one shag-rug nudibranch (Aeolidia papillosa), but we saw at least 16 of them, along with other species. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it was an unforgettable dive. Here are just a few pictures of that dive.
Happy Halloween! 🎃
Safe diving and fantastic underwater finds!
Congratulations to all involved on the International Day of the Diver! 🤿
Safe diving to everyone!
My friend Matt Wills and I always, before the planned trip, set ourselves a “goal” of what we want to see this time underwater. Met, unfortunately, could not go this time with us, but we do not break the tradition. This time my good friends Lana Smithson, Wayne T Joy and I decided to look for Snail Fish on the Deer Island and my wife suggested looking for the Tricolor.
Well, it was a bold plan but we were able to finish our goals within two dives!
Just unbelieveble!
Thanks guys for a great time!
I'm looking forward to new trips together!
Wish you all safe diving and interesting underwater finds 🙂

After a long waiting period, a year-and-a-half, to be exact, my wife and I finally found the time to get together for 10 days of diving and sightseeing in Montenegro. We picked this location from a shortlist of countries that welcomed the US and Ukrainian citizens for, as it called these days, a non...

Since the first time I saw Winged Thecacera, depicted on pages of Marine Life of the North Atlantic book, about 9 years ago, I wanted to see it. Matt Wills, a dive buddy of mine, saw one in 2012, but at that time, he did not have a decent camera and couldn’t take good pictures.

When Nadia Bee and Rich Obrey mentioned going to Eastport (Maine), I couldn’t resist and decided to join them for a few days of diving in the Northeast of the USA. Motel East, where I usually stay, was fully booked, but I’ve got lucky and got a room at the Harris Point Lodging. It’s a

Any day that you can dive the Arches off Gooseberry Island is a good day. To dive there, you will need a boat or kayak. It is just a little too far off Gooseberry Beach to swim. So, when Brian put out the call to make a run to the Arches, I jumped at

Last Saturday, Matt, Bert and I dove at new site Gano Park, Providence, Rhode Island. And we’ve got lucky, almost at the beginning of the dive, we found, as it turned out, a very unique animal – Elysia chlorotica, commonly known as Eastern Emerald Elysia. The reaction, after posting

A lot had happened in my life in 2019. During that turbulent time, my body was afflicted by a “serious damage”, reflected on my psychological state ;) Upon checking my dive computer I found the cause – it turned out that more than 275 days passed since my last dive. Totally unacceptable. The o...
Just came back from a wonderful trip to Malta. Here is a report. Enjoy.
http://todivetoday.com/diving-malta-with-scuba-life-malta-2018-12-29-2019-01-05/
Somewhere about June or August of 2018, I’ve decided to return to Malta and spend New Year holidays diving at the Mediterranean Sea. At that time, the airline charged about $400 for the round-trip ticket. Instead of buying it in June, I’ve made a mistake and waited until October, when the amount...

Friday 31st of the August 2018, was celebrated by doing a night dive at Fort Wetherill State Park, Jamestown, Rhode Island. Matt proposed to get to the park at around 7:30-8 PM and make not one, but two-night dives. I thought that was a splendid idea and by 8 pm I’ve arrived in the Fort

As many times as I dove at this location, Peirce Island never ceased to amaze me with the presence of an enormous quantity of the one particular species of nudibranch, known as Flabellina verrilli or Chlamylla intermedia (Bergh, 1899) Also, at no other place, but this one, I’ve never seen
