Friends! I really need your help getting across the finish line with raising funds for my mission trip to Panama with The Church of Eleven22.

Awhile back I posted about the ministry partner that we're going to be working with down there, and asked all of you to pray for them, for me, and for our mission team.

I also asked for your support, and I could really use it now. I still need to raise $1400 for this mission trip, and we leave next week.

Please, take some time today, pray for our team heading to Panama - and donate to help our mission team get there.

Everything helps - thank you for being a part of this work we're going to be doing in Panama.

Last week I was up in Alaska for the two starts of the Iditarod - the Ceremonial start in Anchorage, and then the official restart of the race in Willow, where mushers and their teams head out across the frozen Willow Lake and into the Alaskan Wilderness. While I was there I even ran in the famous "Running of the Reindeer" to help raise money for Toys-for-Tots. Check out this new video!

I'm super excited for this trip to Anchorage, Alaska that's coming up in a few weeks - not only to be there for the start(s) of the historic Iditarod dog race, but also because I'm going to be participating in the "Fur Rondy" (Fur Rendezvous) events around it, like the Running of the Reindeer 5k (think running of the bulls in Spain)

If you're not subscribed on YouTube yet, do me a favor and head over there. I appreciate the support, and you're not going to want to miss this one!

The Empire Builder is one of Amtrak's most scenic and historic routes - so I decided to check it out! You should do the same and check out my experience on this bucket list trip by train.

Last year, I fulfilled a bucket list dream by taking Amtrak's Empire Builder train from Chicago to Seattle with my rail-enthusiast father, exploring Amtrak's historical significance in U.S. transportation and its cultural symbolism. Our journey highlights Amtrak’s shift from utilitarian travel to ...

I'm pouring some gas into the tank of the website/blog. It's probably the one area I haven't given the time it deserves in terms of creating travel content - so expect more blog posts from me in 2024.

For now, here's my latest on the Route of the Hiawatha. Enjoy.

The Hiawatha Bike Trail on the Idaho/Montana border offers a 15-mile picturesque and historical cycling experience. Following the path of the historic Milwaukee Road, it features tunnels and trestles offering unique perspectives of the landscape. This Rails-to-Trails initiative seamlessly integrates...

Yesterday's video was a great dive (pun intended) into some of the beautiful areas that we are going to be able to explore in Florida, additionally it was really cool to see Heidi get her Open Water certification done with PADI.

Lincoln and I had a great time floating the Rainbow River and supporting the girls while they were diving - but now it's Lincoln's turn to take us all on a tour. His destination of choice? The Turtle Hospital in Marathon, Florida.

Initially we had just planned on dropping in on this 501(c)(3) non-profit turtle rescue to see the work they've been doing and learn a little bit more about Sea turtles and the conservation efforts being made to protect them - Lincoln kept us true to WanderTogether form and insisted on bringing out one of our GoPro's.

We made it to the weekend! It's Saturday so I figured we would share a video today that we shot at the end of this summer, mostly on a SATURDAY. Not that it matters. What does matter is that this video follows along as we go on our very first true outing in our new home state of Florida.

And, as if that weren't exciting enough, it also follows along with Heidi as she goes through her certification dives with a PADI Instructor and dive shop in order to earn her Open Water rating.

I had some fun with this one, so enjoy - and if you haven't yet, or perhaps this is your first time seeing our videos, click on the YouTube link and go subscribe to our channel. We're catching a stride now and there's a lot more to come.

Also, this video is one of the last videos that we have made which will be in, what I am calling, "the old style" of videos. So, from this point on our content will begin to look a little bit different, and we hope to start bringing you great travel videos soon.

Stay tuned for more on those adventures, soon!

What, no video last night?

I know, I know - they seemed to just keep posting like clockwork, almost as though they were scheduled to drop that way. Hmm 🤔

But ultimately 2 videos a day was getting to be a lot. I don't know how "daily vloggers" do it and, if I'm being honest with you - I don't want to know. But even weekly video drops seems like such a daunting task. Especially when we aren't, currently, travelling full time.

I'm certain some of you have been wondering about the other two members of our regular cast of characters, they haven't really shown up yet in any of the videos that have been shared so far - but we promise, they are real.

This video isn't exactly a travel video, unless you count the fact that my family came to visit me in Winnemucca, Nevada, USA while I was working there AND we did go for a flight. Ok, fine, let's call it a travel video. Or, meet Heidi and Lincoln video! Keep in mind, this was shot a few years ago and they have both grown so much - they're really embracing our new lives in Florida and we can't wait to wander more with them.

Some of the time we travel near, and other times we travel far. In today's video drop you're going to see one of the FAR trips. In fact this trip is from FAR back in history as well. I shot this while I was living and working in the Middle East. One of my colleagues had invited us all to his home country of India and to his wedding.

Although the trip went very quickly, we all had a lot of fun. From the backwaters of the Kerala river, to a traditional Indian wedding, we were totally blown away by the experience.

This week has been a lot of fun, sharing these memories with you all, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you that follow this page, and subscribe to our YouTube channel. As things begin to wind down with all of the throwbacks we just want to express our gratitude, and our sincere hope that you join us on this new journey as WanderTogether enters into a far different, far more exciting, chapter.

Tonight's video is one that is very special to me. This was an amazing fishing trip that I went on a couple of years ago with my father and grandfather to the Hakai Lodge in Canada. It was one of the most exhilarating fishing trips of my life, the area was breathtaking, and the food was top notch.

But what really made this trip special was the people I was with for it - my father and grandfather, two of the most important people in my life. Sharing this experience with them was worth far more than the cost to go.

I've mentioned a few times now that things are going to be changing, that the channel is going to go a different direction, and this video is a good place to mention some of those changes. Although the video itself ends with a big of a VLOG, most of it is just glorious, beautiful, amazing drone footage. I didn't really talk about the experience, show the meals, the morning work to get the boats ready, get these two amazing men on camera talking about it themselves (not sure that would have happened either way), and ultimately I find myself rewatching this video wishing that I had done MORE.

So - what you'll see in the new content we produce is that we are going to be aiming to capture WHOLE experiences. The people, the history, the food, and to tell stories as we go that make you feel as though you are right there with us.

Enjoy this video from Canada, the Hakai Land and Sea fishing club. .

Good morning! Today I wanted to share with you something a little bit different. These past few days have been all travel vlogs from our trip to Chile and Peru - and it has been a blast relieving those moments. Also, be sure to watch for another video tonight, which is one of my favorite videos on the channel

Today's video is the MOST WATCHED video on our YouTube channel and it isn't even 2 minutes long (which is probably why it is the most watched). This was a drone video I put together nearly 7 years ago! It showcases one of our favorite resorts in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Full disclosure, while I was filming this video I 100% crashed my DJI Phantom 3 into a palm tree. It survived and was back up in the air later that day. Anyways, enjoy a bit of morning meditation with the sandy beaches at Hacienda Del Mar.

Tonight I get to share with you all one of our most watched videos on our Channel, and frankly I'm a bit surprised that it beats out Machu Picchu!

After wrapping up our stay in Peru Abbi and I darted down to Chile for what was supposed to be a week of hiking and wine tasting, that, ultimately became just a week of wine tasting and some touring around Santiago.

Truth be told the weather in Chile won, in the mountains snow, rain, and floods kept us from reaching our outdoor goals. Santiago and the Maipo Valley wineries, on the other hand, were comfortable and warm. Perfect for a relaxing end to an epic trip.

As I promised last night, here is part 2 of our long adventure on Day 6 of our trip to Peru. This half of the video follows us to Huacachina, a desert oasis complete with dune buggy's and sandboarding.

I know these past few days I've really been pointing to our YouTube channel a lot, and that may be raising some questions - the reason is simple, we aren't really making content for Facebook. Going forward our work is really going to focus in on making VLOG style travel documentary videos which showcase the places we travel to, either as a family, with friends, or on our own.

Committing to a platform is a big deal, and we are going to continue to crosspost to FB and likely use IG for stories and reels, but ultimately at the end of the day, the be best stuff is going to be on YouTube, and we can't wait to show you what's coming.

I know, the math doesn't add up. This morning I posted day 4, and tonight I'm posting day 6 (part 1). What happened to day 5? Well, nothing - there is no day 5. After all the hiking, and high altitudes, day 5 was a simple trip back to Lima from Cusco. After a short flight on Latam we checked in, did some laundry, shopped for some snacks, and took the day off for some much needed rest.

That rest was crucial, because DAY 6 was a long one, with stops in Paracas, Ballestas Islands, and (in part 2) Huacachina. Come back tomorrow morning for that video - and as always, feel free to head over to YouTube and subscribe to our channel.

This video is one of my favorites, it shows off the amazing, breath taking ruins of Machu Picchu. Frankly I'm surprised it hasn't been viewed more. There is a lot going on with WanderTogether, we have a new website up (http://wandertogether.us) and are working to bring new content there as well as to our YouTube and Instagram accounts. Speaking of which, we have been posting to YouTube and over the course of the next few days will be sharing those links here.

We've always loved fresh food, fresh vegetables, and fresh fruit. Being from the Pacific Northwest we were fortunate to be nestled into one of America's best growing regions for everything from tree fruits to veggies. Have you ever heard of Geocaching? I first became aware of it many years ago, back before everyone had a pocket GPS on them wherever they went. Back then it was a matter of finding coordinates in obscure online forums and then inputting them into handheld portable GPS units rocking pixelated 8 bit displays like retro gameboy systems. For those of you that aren't familiar with it - geocaching is essentially a bigger version of "hide and seek" in which players use some form of GPS to find caches that have been hidden by other players....

Happy Mother's Day to this beautiful, wonderful woman. Abbi loves with such power and so fully that I am never surprised when she is able to give more. Nothing makes her happier (not even travel) than being a mom and nothing makes me happier than having her as the mother to our children.

Today is a day to celebrate those wonderful women in our lives that we know and call "mom". But today is not the ONLY day we do that - this one just happens to be written on the calendar. Take a moment and give an extra special thank you to the moms you know today!

There's a storm a-brewin! Hurricane Genevieve (currently a category 4) has spun up south of the Baja peninsula and is moving Northwest toward us now. The resort (Villa del Arco) has put up all their storm shutters (photos 2 & 3) and begun pulling beach chairs and umbrellas out of the sand.

Maybe this trip turns into "how to travel in a hurricane" series 🤣
