Yesterday we started our day with the Arenal suspension bridges and a hike. We then started our long journey over the mountains and through the jungle to a river where we took a jungle safari cruise and saw many birds and several crocodiles, one of which is 80 years old! Then we made our way to our hotel in Jaco beach, where we will be until Friday when we head back to San Jose!
Today I took advantage of a free morning to catch up on work. Tonight we're doing a nighttime nature hike!

Whew!! Yesterday was a long, but great day!

We left San Jose early and went to Poás volcano, where we enjoyed a short hike to the Crater. Afterwards we got back on the road and had a couple stops to see waterfalls, birds, iguana, and a family of coati mundis. For lunch we had traditional Costa Rican casado and fresh strawberry smoothies!! Because of the rich volcanic soil, they are able to grow the most amazing strawberries, year round!
