Ever thought about spending Thanksgiving in a cabin? It’s not impossible even though our space is cozy. Appetizer round: bacon-wrapped asparagus, charcuterie and broiled lobster tail with local Winzerwald Winery cranberry wine. 🦃🍽🍁

Our cabin is currently without power but our neighbors say there is no observable damage. We got lucky and trees were down all over the place. Thinking of the crews at Orange County REMC while they work diligently to restore power for the 871 homes that are still without it.

Severe storms and possible tornadoes left a trail of damage in at least two counties in southern Indiana Sunday night.

Our cabin is dog-friendly but here are some rules to follow:

1. You must have approval to bring up to TWO dogs and pay the pet fee that helps with wear and tear and extra cleaning.

2. Dogs are not allowed in the bath tub or spa.

3. Please clean up after your dogs, inside and out.

4. Dogs are not allowed to be left alone in the cabin unless kenneled.

5. There is a 30ft lead available for use outside.

One of the top holiday train rides in Indiana is the French Lick Polar Express Train Ride. The Polar Express opens on November 4-December 23.

The weather is still nice enough for some kayaking on the lake. There are several places to turn off and jump right into the water. 🛶☀️

We have two kayaks and life vests you can add to your stay.

We just purchased a 5-person hot tub for the screened back porch. It’s going to be a favorite spot for guests when the weather gets cooler. 🍁🍂

Great news for families headed to the Patoka Lake beach!

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Patoka Lake DNR are now offering children’s life jackets available to use while at Patoka Lake Beach!

If you would like to donate children’s life jackets to our lending program, please drop them off at the Patoka Lake DNR office. (Open daily 8am-4pm) All donated life jackets will be inspected prior to public use for safety.

Greetings Everyone!

We are officially ushering in the summer season THIS WEEKEND! WE have several exciting announcements, as well as some polite reminders:

1) OUR CAMPGROUNDS ARE FULL! Both our Modern Campground (Electric Sites) and our Fisherman’s Campground (Non-Electric) are 100% reserved and full. After a-lot of expressed interest and requests in previous years, this year our Fisherman’s Campground went onto the reservation system. We are excited to welcome everyone this weekend!

2) Modern Campground Section – C is REOPENING beginning Friday, May 27, 2022, at noon (12:00 EST). Modern Campground – C has been going intense renovations during the winter and spring months. Several campsites were expanded to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. Additionally, campsites and the roadway have new asphalt! We are excited for these upgrades and hope you are too!

3) Patoka Lake’s Beach Area will OPEN on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Our beach area operates Memorial Day weekend (May 28) through Labor Day weekend (September 5) each year. The Beach Swim House and Beach Concessions will be open, beginning May 28, 2022. We hope for good weather so that you can join us for a swim!

*** As a polite reminder, we want to remind everyone to not bring dogs onto the beach. Dogs are prohibited by Indiana Administrative Code on swimming beaches (312 IAC 8-2-6). ***
