【Ainu Theater Ikor has reopened from 4/1】
Ainu theater Ikor has been closed due to the spread of Covid-19.
Starting 4/1, the theater has reopened and performance will restart.

Lake Akan start getting icy.
You may see some stunning landscapes and natural phenomena such as ice bubbles and frost flowers.
Please watch out that the ice is still starting to grow and is thin.
It is very dangerous to walk on the ice.

We recommend to join the local tours to enjoy the ice walking and other activities at Lake Akan.

【Area reopen】
Japanese Ministry of the Environment has reported that there was a dead body of deer expected to be predated by bear on Oct 15. It was found around Lake Akan specifically around Route 240 where we can observe Oshima Island.
Investigation had done today and there are no any bear marks were found. Thus the area reopen today but please still keep alert of encountering bears. Bear bells and sprays are recommended to carry before entering entire area.

[FOR FISHERMAN: BEAR ALARM]
Japanese Ministry of the Environment has reported that there was a dead body of deer expected to be predated by bear.

It was found around Lake Akan specifically around Route 240 where we can observe Oshima Island.
It will take time to remove all the bodies, and it is highly expected that the bear will come back to the location.

Currently the entrance to the area is restricted. Please do not enter the area.
