Spring on the Lost Coast means crisp ocean air, stunning views, and the return of the Shamrock Shuffle! Whether you’re tackling the hilly 5K or 10K or just out for a Fun Run (2.3 miles), this is your chance to stretch those legs, breathe in the salty air, and celebrate with a co****le tournament and fresh brews !

And hey, shirts! You want one? Pre-order now—we’ve learned the hard way not to overbuy, so we’re only making a handful of extras. Sponsors—this is your moment, too. Get your logo on the back of a shirt that runners will actually wear!

Sign up, claim your tee, and get ready to run, shuffle, and sip on the wildest coast in California!

Calling all artists! The Bureau of Land Management, Shelter Cove Art & Recreation Foundation, and Friends of the Lost Coast would like to announce the spring 2025 King Range National Conservation Area Artist in Residence (AiR) program! Running April 21st through May 19th, this unique opportunity allows an artist to experience a month’s stay on California’s remote Lost Coast, connecting with the local community, leading workshops, and creating artwork that reflects the appreciation and awareness of public lands on California’s Lost Coast. The application is due by Friday, March 7th, so don’t wait!

The AiR program is founded on the belief that artists look closely at the way the world works, notice things that others may have missed, challenge ideas, experiment, and create new opportunities to look at the world. The goal is to have the resident artist explore and observe the King Range NCA and its cultural and natural resources, learning and creating dialogue about the value of public lands by collaborating with local organizations that connect the community to the King Range NCA through stewardship, restoration and interpretation. For program details and application: www.sheltercoveartsrecreation.com.

Applications can be submitted to Sandy Miles at [email protected]. Photos feature work from past residents (left to right) including , and .

We believe that when the tide rises, all boats rise, which is why we’re proud to support the Lost Coast Film Festival—a free event bringing local creativity to the spotlight! This Thursday (2/13) at Mi Mochima, enjoy three five-minute short films: Riff Off by Danika Frey, The Heist Before Christmas by Colton Younger, and Powered By Love by Sara Ortega.

Can’t make it? No worries! The festival continues at Mario’s Marina Bar next Thursday (2/20) then wraps up at Gyppo Ale Mill for the final screening (2/27), where we’ll screen all the films and vote for the winner!

This event is made possible by the Lost Coast Tourism Association, a nonprofit keeping local culture thriving. If you love seeing events like this, consider becoming a member—starting at just $75 per year.

One year later and our friends (who fell in love with the pristine beauty here) and came back to the most secluded corner of Southern Humboldt County - where the trees meet the sea. Isn’t it time you planned a trip here with someone special?

We live in a bubble out here, and honestly? We wouldn’t trade it for anything. The world moves fast, but on the Lost Coast, life has a different rhythm—one shaped by the ocean, the mountains, and the people who call this place home. It’s about having beers on the beach with your friends, watching the sun dip behind the waves, and embracing the raw, untamed beauty that surrounds us.

So if you find yourself here, take a deep breath, slow down, and let the Lost Coast welcome you. We’re not here to change—we’re here to be exactly who we are. And if you let it, this place just might change you instead. 💙🌊🍻
