The only place in the United States you can go swimming inside of a volcano, and what an incredible experience it is! Today was full of firsts. Hiked the Fumarole Bay trail on Wizard Island, saw the legendary Old Man in the Lake (photos 5 & 6), and had my first bear sighting in the park (the bear was swimming to the island, and climbed up right underneath the trail we were on!)
I feel so fortunate to have so many amazing experiences in this very special place. What a day!!

Going up a few switchbacks on Garfield Peak trail is my favorite lunch break activity! The views are just incredible and the flowers are blooming 😍
Unfortunately, we saw the massive plume of smoke rising north of the park today. This is the Trail Fire burning right next to Diamond Lake, in between Mt. Bailey and Mt. Thielsen. Crews are working on containment and hopefully it won't spread much 🤞

What a perfect day we got for the first weekend of ! It's such a special experience to slow down and see everything at this magical place in a different way, while cruising (or climbing...lots of climbing) on a bicycle 🙌🚲⛰️

What a fantastic day at Crater Lake! Finally got to take the boat tour to Wizard Island and it did not disappoint. The summit hike was epic with incredible views, and seeing our favorite formations from the lake surface was such a special experience. Even learned a few new things to share with guests on our day trip, yay! 😎🌋☀️
