ðœDay 1 - we travelled to JFK with Aer Lingus direct from Manchester and it was a great flight with service and food .
I will do a separate section on arrival an immigration as it is quite lengthy
We decided to take the train into the city as I was hearing so many reports of traffic jams with the tree only just being lit- so we decided to go for it .
ðA yellow taxi is usually around $100 with tolls an Uber sometimes less but it depends on the time of day as rates will fluctuate in busy times
Yellow cab Driver will Expect tips of at least 15-20%
ð The Train costs around $16 pp but it was more of a time saving exercise than budget for us .
To get the train is pretty easy - get the air train from the airport into Jamaica station and then the subway to your nearest hotel
Itâs took around 45 minutes - but as I had heard repaired of 2 hours in traffic I think it was a good decision
ðI will say a taxi is MUCH more convenient as there was times where we had to carry our cases up stairs as there was no lift.
We are staying at the Hilton midtown which is fab location in the centre of everything âŠ

On the lovely Scenic Amber .. this was my first ever river cruise and it really is such a relaxing way to travel .
âïžOne of the great aspects is there so many lovely small towns or cities that perhaps I wouldnât visit as a stand alone trip .. but to visit for a day was such a great insight .
ð I loved the intimate feeling of the ship .. it has so much space but just 163 passengers on board
