The Theatre Royal, a replacement of an earlier theatre, opened in 1905 purely for live entertainment.
The 1,900-seat auditorium, believed to have been on 4 levels was gutted in April 1937 and turned into a two tier 2,200-seat cinema auditorium was created which also extended into the stage area.
The cinema closed around the 1960’s and became a bingo hall which in turn closed in the 1990’s. Full explore below with video of the inside today 👇

Most of you on my Facebook will Know Jack Linehan from UK Urbex or from playing Pokemon go in Pokemon GO Huddersfield or brighouse town centre we are trying to raise money to give him the best quality of life when he comes out of hospital.
Jack was sadly involved in a serious vehicle accident and had to be air lifted to Sheffield Hospital. Jack has sustained a pelvic fracture, Neck injury, severe damage to his spinal cord, swelling on the brain and multiple broken bones. He remains in hospital with long road to recovery ahead.

ON NOVEMBER 3, 1948, A B-29 Superfortress crashed in the Peak District near Bleaklow.
The United States Airforce Boeing RB-29A was part of the 16th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron. It had previously been used to photograph nuclear testing at Bikini Atoll, including the dropping of an atomic bomb.
The aircraft crashed near Higher Shelf Stones on Bleaklow during a routine daytime flight to the US Airforce Base in Warrington. It’s believed that the pilots thought they had passed the hills of Bleaklow, but due to low cloud cover their visibilty was obscured and the aircraft hit the ground a little over 2,000 feet above sea level.
All 13 crew members were killed on impact.

East Norton tunnel was one of three tunnels built on the new Great Northern and London North Western Joint Railway (GN&LNW) line in east Leicestershire.
The tunnel, originally built in 1879 is 444 yards (406 metres) long. Regular passenger services along the route were never well patronised and ceased on 7th December 1953. Goods traffic was more successful, continuing to run though the East Norton Tunnel until it was closed on 4th November 1963 full explore below 👇

The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre was a purpose built shopping centre opened in 1991, totalling approximately 15,130 sqm of accommodation arranged over five levels. The centre was home to over 15 big name stores in its peak which included Wilko, Argos, Peacocks, New Look and select were among some of the big names found there before it closed in December 2020 it also had a two storey library in the building as well other local shops and cafes in building taking its total shop number to 26 operating inside the centre

RFA Fort Grange was the lead ship of her class of Royal Fleet Auxiliary fleet replenishment ships. On 31 March 2021, the ship was withdrawn from service
The ship saw her first war service during the Falklands War. She was undergoing refit when Argentina invaded the Falklands in April 1982, but the refit was completed early, and Fort Grange left Devonport on 14 May 1982 to join the task force, carrying three Sea Kings of 824 Naval Air Squadron. She joined up with the fleet on 3 June
however in October 2021 it was announced that the ship, together with her sister ship, had been sold to Egypt. While awaiting refit, it was reported the ship would be renamed ENS Abu Simbel. Full explore below with video of the inside 👇
