If you have not heard, David Mitchell of Chester,
England had two books about Town Criers. For Crying Out Loud (pictured) and The Word On the Street. Both are great reads, covering a lot of history.

My first 'cry'. This was unplanned and impromptu. Little Whiskey Creek June 2021. It was hot. I had some wonderful help in wordsmithing the proclamation.
At this time in my cry career I was unaware that any town criers and organizations existed. Since then I have become a member of the American Guild of Town Criers (they have a website).
There seems to be no history of town criers in the Northwest. I am
still researching this.
