The “City of a Hundred Spires”! We biked to see the Gros Horloge astronomical clock; Hotel de Villa; burial grounds used since Roman times, and the tower from the castle where Joan of Arc was imprisoned.

Hike to Chateau Gaillard - built by King Richard the Lionheartto to guard the Seine. Chateau Gaillard was an architectural wonder & truly ahead of its time when it was built in the 12th century.
❤️❤️Vernon❤️❤️ We did a kayak excursion through the picturesque riverscapes that inspired Monet along the River Epte, a tributary of the Seine.

A very memorable and moving experience today in Normandy. We visited the WWII beaches of Normandy along with the Point du Hoc monument, and the American Cemetery. 🇺🇸
To the Heroes…

Point du Hoc monument is a rugged 100-ft. Cliff overlooking the English Channel. The D-Day invasion was left to a small elite unit of U.S. Army Rangers who scaled the cliff face & fought unsupported for two days before capturing the area from the N***s. Scars and damage from the bombs & battle are still evident.

Omaha Beach is where allied efforts linked the British landing to the east @ Gold with the American landing to the west at Utah.

The American military cemetary contains the remains of 9,387 American military dead, most of whom were killed during the Normandy invasion and the operations that followed.

Day 1 was a whirlwind. Landed early, met up with my transfer and was off to the beautiful hotel centrally located. Weather is absolutely perfect. We went for a walk and did a secret food tour in the Montmartre district where we learned so much about the French cuisine. We sampled bread, cheeses, meats, wine, crepes, viennoiseries, chocolates, macarons. Delicious

✈️❤️🚢I am off on another adventure to one of my favorite cities to attend the Active & Discovery on the Seine River Cruise. So so excited!!! We begin in Paris and go to Normandy where we discover the memorials, cemeteries and landing beaches of World War II. I will be posting so please follow along. 🚢❤️✈️

🇮🇹❤️ 🍨 We arrived in Sardinia Italia, where we were reunited with sweet Liliana, our foreign exchange student and her family. We then headed straight to catch a ferry to La Maddalena island. Incredibly beautiful and a new island to explore to me.

Our first day we drove around the island and took a hike at Parco Nazionale Archipelago di La Maddalena. This park is at isola Caprera, island of goats. And we actually saw a goat. We then went to the beach and swam and then went for happy hour and enjoyed an Aperol Spritz and delicious pizza. 🍕 Of course, when in Italy 🇮🇹 you must have a gelato a day. 🍨 We ended the evening with a visit to see Chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena. ⛪️. Bellisima ❤️. My heart is full❤️

✈️ I arrived yesterday and met up with my beautiful adventurous mom and group of people for a Pilgrimage. Today began with a mass at our Lady of Ocotlan Church, lunch at Puebla Centro (delicious) and visits to see the Cathedral of Puebla, Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Saint Monica Chapel and visit to St. Francis Church. So happy to be here with my mom, meeting many new people and seeing so many beautiful churches. ⛪️

Day 4 Avalon Waterways Holland & Belgium Active & Discovery cruise . I opted for the bike tour to explore the beauty near Brussels, including the Belgium town of Laken, home to the Royal family estates, exotic pavilions from the world expo, and beautiful parks.

In the afternoon, shuttles took us into Brussels to explore this beautiful city-considered home to the European Union, and to admire its magnificent palaces and cathedrals.

Day 2 of Avalon Waterways Active & Discovery in Holland & Belgium. Today we were in Middleburg. We chose to visit the family owned Oyster Farm, active in the cultivation of crustaceans and shellfish in the Netherlands since 1906. After the tour we were treated to 3 types of oysters and an entire lobster with a glass of wine. Delicious!!!
