On Day 2, 🇬🇷Athens & Crete🇬🇷, I enjoyed a leisurely rooftop breakfast, an historical Acropolis tour, and a warm welcome at the Blue Palace hotel. The hotel's exquisite amenities, including a private beach and pool, spa and gym, were complemented by an exceptional site tour and delightful outdoor dinner, filling me with gratitude.

My first day in Athens, Greece 🇬🇷 was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I arrived, everything fell into place - timely transfer, ideal hotel location, and amazing weather. I watched the changing of the guards from the comfort of my balcony, received a warm welcome gift, and indulged in leisurely activities including a rooftop pool visit, shopping, and 2 hotel tours, before meeting up with my group and enjoying a dinner with breathtaking Acropolis views and delicious Greek cuisine.

The “City of a Hundred Spires”! We biked to see the Gros Horloge astronomical clock; Hotel de Villa; burial grounds used since Roman times, and the tower from the castle where Joan of Arc was imprisoned.
❤️❤️Les Andelys❤️❤️
Hike to Chateau Gaillard - built by King Richard the Lionheartto to guard the Seine. Chateau Gaillard was an architectural wonder & truly ahead of its time when it was built in the 12th century.
❤️❤️Vernon❤️❤️ We did a kayak excursion through the picturesque riverscapes that inspired Monet along the River Epte, a tributary of the Seine.

A very memorable and moving experience today in Normandy. We visited the WWII beaches of Normandy along with the Point du Hoc monument, and the American Cemetery. 🇺🇸
To the Heroes…

Point du Hoc monument is a rugged 100-ft. Cliff overlooking the English Channel. The D-Day invasion was left to a small elite unit of U.S. Army Rangers who scaled the cliff face & fought unsupported for two days before capturing the area from the N***s. Scars and damage from the bombs & battle are still evident.

Omaha Beach is where allied efforts linked the British landing to the east @ Gold with the American landing to the west at Utah.

The American military cemetary contains the remains of 9,387 American military dead, most of whom were killed during the Normandy invasion and the operations that followed.

We are off on a walking tour of Paris ❤️ then we boarded the beautiful ship 🚢 to Normandy.

Day 1 was a whirlwind. Landed early, met up with my transfer and was off to the beautiful hotel centrally located. Weather is absolutely perfect. We went for a walk and did a secret food tour in the Montmartre district where we learned so much about the French cuisine. We sampled bread, cheeses, meats, wine, crepes, viennoiseries, chocolates, macarons. Delicious

✈️❤️🚢I am off on another adventure to one of my favorite cities to attend the Active & Discovery on the Seine River Cruise. So so excited!!! We begin in Paris and go to Normandy where we discover the memorials, cemeteries and landing beaches of World War II. I will be posting so please follow along. 🚢❤️✈️
