Happy Monday!
It was a big, busy weekend for Disney fans, filled with announcements which I’ve done my best to summarize below. Lots on the way!

At Walt Disney World (in Florida):

Hollywood Studios-

A New Mandalorian Adventure is coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Monsters Inc Land is coming and will feature a doors coaster, the first ever suspended roller coaster created by Disney! Construction begins in 2025.

Animal Kingdom-

A new show called “Zootopia: Better Together” will premiere.

Tropical Americas will replace DinoLand USA. This land will feature 3 new attractions - an all new Indiana Jones attraction, a carousel full of famous Disney animals and the first ever Encanto attraction. The Indiana Jones attraction will feature the same ride vehicle as Dinosaur but an all new story. The Encanto attraction is currently planned to take place in Antonio’s room (a rainforest). Construction begins this fall and is expected to be completed by 2027.

EPCOT-

A new and improved Test Track will be reopening in 2025.

A Spaceship Earth Lounge will debut at EPCOT next summer.

Magic Kingdom-

A Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern will open at Magic Kingdom next summer.

A new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight, debuts in 2025.

A brand new Cars Land is headed to Frontierland, replacing Tom Sawyer Island and The Rivers of America.
This land will feature 2 brand new cars attractions and will begin construction early 2025.

Villains Land! This land will have 2 major attractions as well as dining, shopping, and more. (I personally am hoping for lots of character meet and greets).

At Disneyland (in California):

Disneyland Park-

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens at Disneyland Park November 15, 2024.

The first ever Walt Disney animatronic is coming to a new show. The Main Street Opera House will transform into Walt’s office as he shares his plans for a great big beautiful tomorrow.

Smuggler’s Run will also get the new Mando and Grogu adventure.

Disney California Adventure-

Avengers Campus will get a new attraction, Avengers Infinity Defense! In this ride, guests will team up with their favorite super heroes to defend the universe against King Thanos.
Construction starts in 2025.

Pandora - The World of Avatar!
This new land is inspired by the Way of Water and future Avatar films. It will include an innovative new attraction that will take you deep into previously unexplored places throughout Pandora.

Construction on the first ever Coco ride will begin in 2026. The ride will feature ground breaking animatronics and all your favorite Coco songs.

Disney Cruise Line:

4 new unannounced Disney Cruise ships are on the way between 2027 and 2031 bringing the total of the fleet to 13 ships.

Overseas Parks:

The first ever Lion King attraction is headed to Disney Adventure World in Paris.

Big News From Sandals Luxury-Included Resort!

Sandals Emerald Bay- made for couples- will close on August 14th and reopen in fall 2024 as Beaches Exuma…a family friendly all-inclusive resort in the Bahamas.

I’m sad to see Sandals Emerald Bay go, but excited to see what changes were made for families when Beaches Exuma opens its doors.

📢 No more open seating on Southwest!

Starting February 2025, Southwest will be changing to assigned seats like most other major airlines, citing a report that claims 80% of Southwest customers prefer assigned seats when flying.

While some, like my boss, are big fans of this change and look forward to avoiding the stress of open seating, others are concerned that the change will mean paying a premium to sit with their family or in certain seats on the plane. If Southwest follows the seating precedent set by other airlines, you can bet we’ll see some empty rows while others are filled three across.

All that being said, Southwest still offers a free carry-on and two free checked bags when flying, so I think they will hold on to their customers for now.

First Day.
Verdict: Bad for spontaneity did we think otherwise?).
Good for cutting down on time in lines.
Easy to use.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass have arrived!

This morning I was able to preselect 3 attractions and pick the times that worked best for our schedule. It is so nice having 3 already lined up like the old days!

Guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort will be able to make selections for their entire trip 7 days prior to check in. Guests staying off site will be able to make reservations 3 days prior to each day.

There will be many opinions about this new system but it definitely takes away the stress of the morning trying to secure those hard to get attractions. We will be sharing lots more in the coming days!

It’s July. Florida is hot and humid. 🥵
But, if you’re going to sweat there are worse places to do it than the most Magical Place on Earth. Wait times are low, pools are open, and there are discounts to be had. Summer is the perfect time to take advantage of an after hours “H2O Glow” party at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, and air-conditioning exists, even in Walt Disney World.
If it’s between going in the height of summer or not going, it’s worth the trip. There’s still time to get a last minute vacation in the works and I can help.
