Today, we express our best wishes to a humanitarian and businessman, Mr. Azruddin Mohamed, who is celebrating his 37th birthday.

This young man has over the years proven to be phenomenal and selfless in his quest to improve the livelihood of Guyanese from all walks of life.

He is someone who leads with dignity and compassion and never forgets his roots, but more importantly, his commitment to his family and business ventures is unwavering.

Guyana’s First Lady Arya Ali took the First Ladies of St Kitts and Nevis, Diani Prince-Drew, and the Bahamas, Ann Marie Davis to Kaieteur and Baganara Island Resort during their stay here in Guyana for the CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting.

Although Kaieteur wasn’t flowing to full capacity because of the prolonged dry season, it was still a breathtaking moment for them to watch the highest single-drop waterfall at almost 750 feet.

GEORGETOWN GUYANA PREPARES TO HOST CARICOM LEADERS AT THE 46TH REGULAR HEADS OF GOVERNMENT MEETING

The 46th meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government, gets underway, tomorrow, Sunday, February, 25, 2024, with a ceremonial opening at the National Cultural Center in Georgetown.

There, the Heads of Government and their delegations, would be treated to a cultural display from a wide cross section of talented Guyanese.

The main feature of the opening ceremony would be an address from the current Chairman of the CARICOM group of countries, Guyana’s President Dr. Irfaan Ali. CARICOM’S Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett and Outgoing Chairman, Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, are also slated to address the opening ceremony.

The business sessions are billed for the Marriot Hotel, in Georgetown.

A Mohamed rebuilds & restocks Buxton salon destroyed by fire

On November 9, 2023, a building at Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD) that housed the Timze Barbie Empire—a beauty salon—was gutted by a fire that was maliciously set. To date, no one has been arrested, and the case remains unsolved.

However, with the financial support of Mr. A. Mohamed, the salon is back up and running. On Thursday evening, the businessman visited the saloon, where he met with its owner, Ronelle Goring.

She explained that she had been operating her saloon at the location for just over a year when tragedy struck. The fire had destroyed the building and its contents.

Goring nevertheless reached out to the businessman and related her story to him. He immediately agreed to assist her in rebuilding and restocking the establishment.

The elated woman expressed gratitude to the businessman for his support and promised to take full advantage of his generosity.
