Big congratulations to Benjamin Bridge for attaining B-Corp certification. As part of my research for an upcoming issue of ASI - Association de la Sommellerie Internationale magazine, I was exploring B-Corp certified wineries around the world. Canada only has two, Summerhill Pyramid Winery and now Benjamin Bridge. It's an exhaustive process that demonstrates not only a commitment to the environment but also community and employees. So proud to have Benjamin Bridge in my backdoor and what a pleasure to speak with the always charming Keltie MacNeill, their Director of Sustainability. Considering our small industry we have some a deluge of wineries committed to doing the right things. Where are the best tacos in Halifax? I went on a taste adventure to discover who is going make my palate dance. Let's salsa.

For the wine pairing? Bright fruity whites and light juicy reds. Riesling, Albarino, New World Pinot Noir, Sicilian Frappato, Dolcetto and Beaujolais. Out of the box idea, how about sparkling Bairrada.

Put in the comments your favourite place for tacos and the best wine to serve with them.

Happy International Women's Day to all the great women of wine I am blessed to have been part of my work life.

Some of the most inspiring to me:

-Nina Basset - few people bring compassion, strength, honesty, sincerity like this inspirational leader.
-Michelle Bouffard - my little sister (in spirit), and an inspirational leader for her work on climate change. Tasting Climate Change
-Filipa Pato - a great winemaker, but as, or more, importantly a great mom, and as my good friend William Wouters would say 'a great wife.'
- The great women of the NS wine industry such as Ashley Mcconnell a business dynamo and leader of Benjamin Bridge. Beatrice Stutz , the strength of Domaine de Grand Pre, Rachel Hope Lightfoot , the kind leader of Lightfoot & Wolfville, Melanie Rudderham Eelman of Beausoleil, who represents intelligence, forward thinking and talent and Geena Luckett of Luckett Vineyard, whom I have just recently had more conversations with, and each one makes me want to have more chats with her as I understand her insights and visions for the future of the local industry.
-Of course all the great women I've had the pleasure to interview over the years, whether it is Anne-Sophie Pic, Julie Cohen Theobald, Pascaline Lepeltier, Pauline Vicard, Jane Anson MW, Alice Feiring Clare Tooley and so many more.....

And of course all the women I work with at ASI - Association de la Sommellerie Internationale including Xeniya Volosnikova Michele Chantome Ana Sofia Oliviera Beáta Vlnková

Finally the woman, Tracy MacIntyre, I share wine with over dinner, who reminds me that wine isn't just work, its a medium for great conversation. Thanks for being my life inspiration.

With the closing of Dartmouth's John's Lunch, I set out to discover who has the province's, or at least HRM's, best fish and chips. After a poll, there was a clear top 3 spots in HRM (Fredies Fantastic Fishhouse in Bayers Lake, Pleasant Street Diner, Dartmouth and Rudy & Olives Fish and Chips in Bedford). Outside of HRM Mahone Bay's Oh My Cod and Lunenburgs The FishShack were clear favourites. As for which HRM got top nods. I spent a day visiting these location establishments.
