Where is your bucket list vacation destination?
For me this is a hard choice between visiting Egypt or the Galápagos Islands.
I have always been fascinated by the rich Egyptian history and architecture. Learning more about this ancients civilization by actually being there I’m sure couldn’t be matched. Standing at the base of towering structures that were built with such accuracy I’m sure would make it even more mind boggling. Seeing the Valley of the Kings would give insight into understanding the scope of what it took to build these places of rest.
The science teacher in my can’t get past how cool I think it would be to visit the Galápagos Islands. Each island with such different ecosystems that support distinct species would be amazing to experience outside of the pages of a text book. The convergence of ocean currents also brings such a vast variety of species together. The Galapagos would combine adventure and bring knowledge to life.

Good morning! After yesterday's adventures, we took a well-deserved rest, and we are awaiting today's arrival in #ketchikan. We are all going on an Adventure Kart Adventure with ATVs.
Another tip: Get on Alaska time as quickly as possible. For us from Texas, Alaska is three hours behind. This will allow you to be more in sync with the times of activities on the cruise and also with your excursions.

Good morning, fam! We've been up for over 3 hours because we have been enjoying these incredible views since before 6. We were able to sip our ☕ coffee and eat 🥓breakfast while viewing the fjord and glimpsing wildlife.
#Fjords (pronounced: fi-ord) are valleys created by glaciers. We also were able to see the Sawyer🧊 Glacier. Picture to follow.

Good morning! Today we head to #Sitka, our first port. Jeff, Owen, and I are doing a bike and hike. Rebecca and Mom are going on 'Sea Otters, Raptors, and Bears, Oh My!'.
We were so busy yesterday I did not post the day's adventures, but I believe I will have time this morning. I hope!
One question we had in prepping is what to pack. So far on the boat, we have been wearing pants, long and short sleeve shirts, and hoodies. Outside, it is cold (to us). While we played mini golf, some of us had hats.

How incredible is this view of Canadian coastline!
Our room is on the 7th floor. These are considered obstructed view. However what is obstructed is looking directly down. (Great for people with a fear of heights.). The obstruction is about 8 feet long. It definitely does NOT get on the way of your views of the amazing scenery.
Today is a cruising day, so we are going to do this and that - including watching game 7 of the #stanleycup. Who can say they watched this game from a #royalcaribbean cruise to #Alaska. Mom and Rebecca are doing sushi making this morning. (I'll share pics later from that adventure.).
Our afternoon and evening was acquainting ourselves with the boat and rooms. Jeff and Owen even got in a game of chess. We also saw whales while walking around on the top decks.

A unique ride to Paris is Pinocchio's Daring Journey. To us, it was somewhat similar to Peter Pan's Flight, but without the flight. Definitely a ride for those with children, toddlers,and those young at heart (not teenagers).
