Deer season was good and with pretty much all of our tags punched it’s time to get the smallie season started a little early! Never fished this time of year before but man it was a heck of a first day back on the water! Good buddies Ricky Garrison and Cody Smith helped out today in putting over 35/40 fish in the boat!

The story of Lucky 7 is a very special story, he’s not our biggest but he’s definitely a mature buck that we have worked hard for and watch grow all season and if you only knew the work and dedication put into this hunt and for it to all come together the way it did, It was truly “Text-book” he fought his last battle on the mountain top last night and we knew to go in and challenge him to war was the way to go and with the first hunters moon at hand we sat 35’ high above the battle field and took victory on this day! Thank you Chase Frye and Kaylee Kane for being apart of the journey with me!

We dream about it all year...
We scout non-stop, always looking, listening, and plotting...
We work our lives away to save money to afford to do it...
We make detailed plans...
Burn our only vacations...
We study maps...
We practice our equipment all summer...
We buy the best equipment money can buy...
We do detailed exercise plans to get into shape so we can climb the hills and venture deep in the swamps...
Its a wonder our spouses don't leave us...

All this for a chance that you might get one moment, one shot, one chance this year. Some will, some won't...
However, if you take a step back and look at what we are trying to achieve, its an all year obsession for a thrill that will last minutes, or maybe seconds...

And when you get that chance, its a pretty good bet you might fail. You have to decide under pressure in a split second, when to draw, when to shoot, control the shakes, not panic, is this the buck you want? and keep your cool...

I know this is crazy. I ponder all we go thru for a chance that we might get that one fleeting moment. The shot.

To all you crazy people out there who understand and are nodding in agreement and actually understand this message Our day is coming.
The time is almost upon us.

Shallow Minded guiding with another great day on the water!
This warm weather sure has the fish turned on, father/son William and Big C put the smack down on some beautiful East Tennessee Smallmouth today!
This was they’re first inland trip and first attempt at smallmouth and they were more than rewarded with a great time and plenty of great fish! Thanks again guys and I’m blessed you gave me the opportunity to show you a part of East Tennessee and some of the treasures it has to offer!
