UPDATE: Hello again Divas: I apologize for the hasty post earlier. I planned on giving you options and the majority vote will be our cruise. Below are options 1-3, starting at $186 per person (before port fees and taxes, $102.54). If you’re interested, please message me on your choice: 1, 2, or 3 no later than end of this month, Feb. Sooner is better because these low fares go quickly. It’s 2 per cabin and website only allows 1 cabin per booking so I can only book for me and my roomie. After I tally the winning cruise, I'll let you know and if you're available to go, I'll send the link for booking. For now, please decide who your roomie will be and once we know our winning cruise, you and roomie can call together and book your room (inside, outside, Oceanview, balcony, or suite). They will ask for each cruiser's full name, address, and DOB. Also, we'll be selecting the earliest dinner option because they tend to be the best time and that way we have the rest of the evening. This post is for my diva sisters with Thrivewell Cancer Foundation. I have gotten interest from a bunch of you for a Diva Cruise so I'd like to request that you text, Facebook Message or contact me here with your answer to this question: Do you want to sail this year or next year? Based on the majority, I'll start looking for a cruise. To start, I recommend a Thurs-Sun, 4 nights, leaving out of Galveston, TX. Cruise will have one stop in Cozumel. This is a good way to see how everyone does on short trips before we take on longer ones or even include the dudes. For those who called my cell and I didn't respond, I apologize. I get a lot of telemarketing calls and if I don't recognize a number, I don't answer so feel free to text me (quickest way) and include your name so I can respond. These short cruises run around $350+ per person, including port fees and taxes. I look forward to hearing from you.

Checklist when traveling to Australia from the U.S. (from my trip 4-18 Jan 2023):

1) Ensure passport is up-to-date (and will be when you depart Australia).

2) When booking your airfare, ensure your return fare has at least 2.5 or longer hours on your connecting flight from Australia. If less than 2.5 hours, you’ll be running when you land to go through the Customs (hopefully through the Global Entry Pass line which is quicker) and not the long general security line. Then you have to go to Baggage Claim to pick up your checked luggage (if applicable), to take to Connecting Flights bag drop off, which are not in the same area. If you haven’t registered and paid for the Global Entry Program (GEP aka TSA Pre-check for international travel), you will have to stand in the longer line to get through the first (of two) Security Checkpoints. GEP can be found here: https://ttp.dhs.gov/. Note: this is the government site that costs $100 but takes 4-6 mos processing time. You can pay more and get it quicker at a non-government site. GEP is a two-for one deal, as it gets you through security for both TSA Pre-check (stateside) and GEP lines (international). When I first applied for GEP, the government site said that I wouldn’t have to put anything in the bins or remove my shoes and that I’d walk straight through, because I’ve already been pre-approved (they do a background check and you have to go in for an interview). But this is my first GEP experience and the only thing was that the line wasn’t as long and I didn’t’ have to remove my shoes. The key is once you get your GEP pre-approval email, make sure your GEP number is on your booked reservation and your boarding pass says TSA Pre-Check (otherwise, you will stand in the long line, even if you have your hard copy GEP card). Your GEP card will arrive in the mail. I showed the Security person my GEP card but they only wanted to see that my boarding pass said TSA Pre-Check. Finally, once you get your check bagged through Customs and drop it off at the Checked Bags for Connecting flights, THEN and only then will you be ready to find your connecting gate (which may be across the airport…literally) and go through the second TSA line (which should be shorter). Again, this is my first experience but there was only one TSA line. The difference was that I didn’t have to remove my shoes like everyone else that didn’t have TSA Pre-Check on their boarding pass. This second step was stressful because even with a fast walk, by the time I got to my gate, they were boarding Group 2. I was in Group 4 so I had just enough time to fill my water bottle and use the bathroom. Coming off of a 14-hour flight, I really wanted to get food (even though you are fed dinner, a snack, and breakfast) and freshen up. I was sweating so much when I got to my gate, but the best part of it was my watch said I had accumulated 10,500 steps! It would be a little less steps because I went to the bathroom on the plane several times.

3) Register for the ETA Visa for entry (https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/electronic-travel-authority-601) below and costs $20 as of this post. You want the ETA visa (not the Visitor or Tourist, which is almost $150).

4) Read Trip Advisor (https://www.tripadvisor.com/) or similar sites to get insights on hotels, activities, prices, etc.

5) Have fun!

Visit Australia as often as you wish in a 12-month period. Stay up to 3 months each time you enter Australia.

It’s been a fantastic 2 weeks in the Land of Down Under! Thank you Aiono for being such a gracious host. Celebrated my birthday; reconnected with my high school classmate, Lavalea, from 40 years ago; and attended the Australian Open. Lavalea also took me around. Thank you Lord for making all this possible. Looked high and low for kangaroo jerky and couldn’t find until I spotted them in the Duty Free stores, and got crocodile jerky, too. It was definitely worth flying 20.5 hours to get here! Time to go home 🏡.

In the land of Ugg footwear, Navy blue is nonexistent. Even in the big malls, they can only order it but only for the plain boots…no bows, buttons, bling, etc. And! We were on a mission to find kangaroo jerky…also nonexistent. Two strikes today. But, we had some ok Korean Food at Seoul Kitchen.

Happy 2023! If you’re planning to go to visit Australia, apply for the entry visa (< 3 months visit), $20 and not the tourist visa, $153! Thank you mucho to the United Air rep, Brad Taylor, for calling Australia to check on my approval after I waited an hour. Entry visa is approved quickly, which I discovered, upon applying for it and only took 5 min to apply.

Where are my family travelers? This a 2-bedroom villa for 4 days/3 nights, $409 during the holiday season. Two bedroom villa comes with a large comfy L-shape couch with a 55" TV; (where 2 adults can crash); dining area; full-size fridge/kitchen area; 2 king beds with 55" TV in rooms; 2 full batheooms; and whirlpool bath.

Lots of restaurants downstairs, live band with dancing, pool, hair salon, massage place, shopping, tram, live shows, etc.

My mom, sister, brother, and I stayed several times at the Vegas Resort & Casino valla for a week and always enjoy our time.

This was a girl’s weeklong trip to Dubai for $799 that included the hotel and airfare. The deal was through Gate 1 Travel and we paid $200 extra since the deal was out of New York. My friends Catriona flew from Baltimore, MD; Liz flew from Vegas, NV; Linda flew from Dayton, OH; and I flew from San Antonio, TX. We had so much fun and I wouldn’t recommend sand-blasting in the desert if you’re prone to motion sickness. I also wouldn’t recommend going to the tallest skyscraper in the world, the Burj Kalifa, 2,722 feet above ground. I did enjoy riding the boat to the gold souks, where you buy any and everything gold. Sightseeing was also cool and finding good food. Let me know if you’re looking for a unique trip to check off your bucket list.

Ok, my daughter made this video when we went to Acapulco, Mexico. I wanted to share this because we paid only $99 for 7 days! I got it through my Westgate & Travel Cruise company, through my timeshare. We stayed at The Grand Mayan Hotel. Yes, $99 for an entire week! Kingsize bedroom with sitting area that had 2 pullout couches, patio heated whirlpool bath, and kitchen. We did not cook because we were on vacation but it was nice to have a kitchen in case. This was some years ago but let me know if you’re looking for a great getaway.
