N.Looking for a place to eat while Skye's Rest ?🤔 A great local place to start is Street Feast Titirangi , which has a variety of culinary options. Last night the preferred option was Stumpy's Woodfired Pizza 🍕. Definitely worth a visit.😋

We often have guests come to stay Skye's Rest because they are attending a wedding 👰🏼‍♀️💍. We can accommodate up to 6 guests. Or maybe you want a quiet relaxing break away with your partner. 😊
Also we still have dates available around Easter 🐣 which is just around the corner.

The weather has been very 🔥 hot. So today we took a walk in the evening when it had cooled a little. The Beveridge Track is a stunning walk you can take from Skye's Rest .

If you are visiting Skye's Rest then definitely organise a meal out ARYEH PIHA . The food is delicious, the service is very friendly and attentive. After your meal you can walk along the beach and enjoy the stunning sunsets 🌅

Open Studios Waitākere is an annual weekend opportunity for artists resident in the Waitākere Ranges Local Board area to open their studios to the public. With over 80 artists involved, and 40 studios from Piha to Glen Eden, Titirangi to Te Henga, it's an inspiring weekend out and about!

I've said it before but will say it again, we are very fortunate to live in an area surrounded by lots of great eateries and cafés. Today we had brunch at the bustling urban café Holly's cafe .

When you stay Skye's Rest and you just want to snuggle up with a great read, then you will find we have made a wide selection of books available . We would also highly recommend a visit to a nearby second hand bookshop Caffeine & Book Dealers , where you definitely won't leave empty handed. We found some great books today I can't wait to get into.

So lovely to re-familiarise ourselves with our local track (just on the doorstep of Skye's Rest) . After months of incredibly wet weather the return of sunshine the past week has been so welcome and invigorating. A picturesque walk into the village for coffee and pastries Crafty Baker .😋
Feeling grateful that we live in this piece of paradise.😎☀️🌳.

Pōhutukawa as well as the Christmas tree of Aotearoa is also one of the cluster of stars of Matariki. It represents the people we have lost their contributions to our lives, extinction and gratefulness to our environment. A great time of year to think about those we have lost, and show gratitude to our environment.🙏🏼

We have sprung into spring (Kōanga -kō- a digging implement: spring a time to dig the soil). Today the weather put on a beautiful show. It is certainly a lovely time of the year hear in Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland). The Titirangi Village Market was on today and you could feel a boost in spirits, after a difficult winter for many experiencing covid and winter flu. At Skye's Rest it has been busy with us welcoming many guests from both Aotearoa and other parts of the world, which can now visit us without restrictions. We are booked solid in October, most of December and January. Then we are solidly booked until mid June next year. We feel grateful that we are able to provide a place where people can experience the little piece of paradise we experience everyday.

A beautiful spot
This place is wonderful, even in the winter. The scenery is great, especially as clouds roll in and out with the rain. The sun room overlooking the back has a great view with a lot of afternoon sun. The air hockey table was my 6yo's favorite feature. We played at least an hour a day. The home is equipped with two split-units, one in the dining room where it easily heated it, the kitchen, and the living room, and one in the master bedroom which kept us comfy and cozy at night. Even though this place looks like it's off in the sticks, it's a very short drive into "downtown" Titirangi which has everything you'd need. The roads connecting this place to town are wonderfully windy and smooth, with some great views breaking out between the houses and growth. It's also not too far from the Auckland CBD or Piha beach. We drove all around the Auckland metro area from here. We would happily stay here again.

Kia ora from Skye's Rest,
The calm before the storm. Even on a grey rainy day it is lovely to take a meander along the Beveridge track (on your doorstep at Skye's Rest). This is a lovely part of the track is lined with nikau palms. One aspect that I enjoy about the rain is that the vibrant green of the bush. Today though we managed to avoid the rain on our walk. Yesterday a glorious sunny winter's day. From Skye's Rest you can take an easy 45min walk into Titirangi village, then sit down at a diverse selection of cafes and eateries and have a bite to eat. Yesterday we decided on Deco Eatery. Yum.
