As of 23rd October 2023 we are suspending our regular scheduled walks until March 2024.

At this time of year the level of demand means it is not cost effective to operate a regular schedule. Private tours are still available and times and dates can be arranged to suit. Please contact us to find out more.

We have a new foot and bicycle bridge getting ready to be moved into place here on the River Clyde, creating a link between Govan and Partick. It’s a great spot for a wee dram while watching the construction.

The weather forecast is looking great for tomorrow. Possibly the last summery day of the year and not too warm, so ideal for a walk along the waterfront.

We still have spaces available on our guided walking tour from Clyde Street to Govan Cross (starts 1pm, 2.5-3 hours long).

30% off if you book before midnight tonight using the promotion code 'SEPT-12' at the checkout.

No time off during the week? We've added an extra Saturday date for our City Centre - Govan Cross walking tour on 16th September.

This is our longer tour (approx. 3 hours) and runs from Clyde Street at the suspension bridge (north side, across the road from the Virgin Hotel) via King George V Bridge, Tradeston, Pacific Quay (stopping there for a refreshment break at Costa Coffee), past the graving docks and via Govan Riverside to Govan Cross.

The walk explores the history of the waterfont and how it has changed since the closure of the docks and wharves. Though there are still some obvious (and less obvious) remnants of the industrial river to see.

The Shipyards used to be one of Scotland’s largest employers with the Shipbuilding industry being huge in Scotland, especially on the river Clyde. The shipyards of Scotland produced all sorts of vessels, this selection ranges in date from the 17th to 20th centuries.

One of the most interesting dining rooms in Glasgow: Cafe Gandolfi since 1979.

The furniture maker Tim Stead, a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, was asked to make the sinewy, sculpture-like yet comfortable tables and chairs.

With a patina acquired through constant use, the furniture is even more beautiful now than it was 40 years ago.

Glass painter John Clark later installed "A flock of fishes", the two stained glass panels that splash colour on to the big main windows.
