Today: finalizing an itinerary in one of our faaaav regions— northern Spain! Clients this spring will visit Barcelona and Sitges before heading up to Spain’s northern coast for some of its famous pintxos and wine 🩵
It’s officially the time of year for those “somewhere warm” calls. If you already know that sometime between February and April you’re going to have to escape the cold… plan now rather than later (and we can snap up what all those late planners will miss). Surfing is optional 😎

2024 will be Duende Travels’ fourth calendar year in this world! As we approach that milestone, we’ve been putting a lot of thought into who we are, what makes us different, and how we want to change the world of luxury travel. We gave Amy Jo Nelson the very real challenge of putting all that thought into words, and she absolutely nailed it (and made it sound gorgeous at the same time). A highlight of for us was their Coastal Kitchen concept— using each stop as an opportunity to fill up the ship pantry and serve up what is freshest. From the butter and cheese to the famous seafood and craft beer, we were truly immersed in Norway’s food scene from the minute we boarded. And you know Duende Travels loves a little immersion by way of food 😌.

Yesterday was one of those travel days where all the pieces come together perfectly and just make it ✨that day✨. We started with whales in the morning, visited where we had a magical afternoon on an arctic farm, an unbelievable five course wine pairing dinner at Røst, and then the northern lights came out of nowhere, defying the almost 0% chance forecast.
The northern lights (like so much in travel) don’t operate on our schedule; you can put yourself in more or less the right place and right time of year, but the rest is just up to chance. I’m so happy we were up on the top deck by chance when these lights started dancing!
