There are many hotel options near the half Moon cruise terminal in Notfolkfor guests to stay before sailing. We stayed at the Glass Light Hotel, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. It is a gorgeous boutique hotel with many glass art pieces on display. The Perry Art Glass Gallery is connect to the hotel, next door. The rooms are cute and very comfortable. Best of all it is walking distance to the port.

This hotel also offers a park and cruise option. You can enjoy hassle free parking, when you cruise/ embark on your adventure. During your stay at the hotel, you will pay the full valet rate of $33 per day. The valet discount of $20 per day will be applied to your bill at check in for the length of the cruise. So excited to be a part of Carnival’s Homeport Norfolk training and tour this weekend!! Today was a fabulous day of training to become a Celebration Key Specialist, and have an opportunity to see all the amazing things Norfolk has to offer as a homeport for Carnival. We got to meet with Carnival’s Independent Agent Team❤️. And we had a fabulous expo to talk with Hotels, Entertainment Venues, and community agencies that are part of making Norfolk a fantastic year round homeport! The carnival Sunshine will be in port tomorrow!

Icon of the Seas is an amazing ship!! The 2nd Icon class ship will start sailing, August 2025. Legend of the Seas will be the next Icon class ship, sailing from Barcelona for 7 night Western Mediterranean cruises, before she moves to her new home port in Ft. Lauderdale in November 2026, where she will offer 6 night Western Caribbean and 8 night Southern Caribbean sailings! Bookings for Legend of the Seas are noted to open tomorrow (2/19).

The more I learn about Celebration Key, the more I am excited to visit it! This amazing, Carnival Exclusive destination is located on Grand Bahama Island is is scheduled to open in July 2025! The first sailing, scheduled to depart from Norfolk to visit Celebration Key is the 9/28/25 - 6 day Bahamas Cruise! Have you ever sailed on any of the Carnival Excel Class Ships? Currently, the 3 Excel Class Ships include the Carnival Celebration (from Miami), Carnival Mardi Gras (from Port Canaveral), and the Carnival Jubilee (from Galveston). These ships are Gorgeous and have so much to offer... so much FUN! I love being able to book clients into a group, because I love being able to offer additional amenities!

I am currently holding group space on the Carnival Celebration, sailing from Miami, next Spring Break (4/5/26 - 4/12/26) for a 7 day , Eastern Caribbean sailing with stops in Grand Turk, Amber Cove, Nassau & Celebration Key! A CHARLESTON FAVORITE HAS ARRIVED FOR HER DRY DOCK BEFORE HER NEW DEPLOYMENT- THE SUNSHINE :

Many people are feeling disappointed that the Carnival Sunshine will no longer be sailing from Charleston, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. However, with every ending comes an exciting new beginning!

The Carnival Sunshine is currently preparing for its next chapter, which includes a drydock period before arriving at its new homeport in Norfolk, Virginia. Following its final voyage from Charleston earlier this month, the ship embarked on a trans-Atlantic journey to France on January 4, 2025. It is expected to arrive in Marseille on January 15, 2025, for its shipyard stay.

During this drydock, the 2,964-passenger vessel will undergo routine technical maintenance, class work, and updates to its onboard amenities and hotel spaces. After completing these updates, the Sunshine, originally built in 1996, will return to North America to begin an exciting schedule of cruises departing from Norfolk starting in mid-February.

As part of its year-round deployment from Norfolk, the Carnival Sunshine will offer six- to eight-night itineraries to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. The ship will regularly visit Carnival Corporation’s private destinations, Half Moon Cay and Princess Cays. In addition, during the summer, it will feature itineraries to Bermuda and, starting in late September, will include stops at Carnival Cruise Line’s new private destination, Celebration Key.

The Carnival Sunshine has a rich history, first entering service in 1996 as the Carnival Destiny. In 2013, the ship underwent an extensive transformation, with a major refurbishment project that completely reimagined its interiors and public spaces. Now, as it enters its next phase, the Sunshine continues to offer an unforgettable cruise experience to passengers, setting sail from a brand-new homeport with exciting itineraries ahead.
