A sand dune in central Vietnam and a tower in HCMC have been recommended as best places to see sunrises and sunsets in the country.
The white sand dunes in Binh Thuan Province, dubbed "Little Sahara," is where most tourists say they have found the best views of the sun coming up, according to U.K. firm Mornings.co.uk, which analyzed Tripadvisor reviews to come up with its recommendations.

The dunes lie in Hoa Thang Commune, Bac Binh District, around 65km northeast of Phan Thiet beach town. What makes the dunes special is that their colors change depending on the angle of the sun or cloud cover.

Digital travel magazine Afar of the United States has chosen Phong Nha-Ke Bang, the UNESCO-recognised global heritage site in the central province of Quang Binh, as one of the world's 39 best places in which to travel in 2022.According to the magazine, Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park, which is a geologically-famous site in central Vietnam, has tempted daredevils since 2013, when Son Doong, the largest cave on the planet and big enough to hold a Boeing 747, opened for multiday tours.

The publication reveals that the Phong Nha–based company Oxalis Adventure is hoping to launch a fresh adventure ahead in 2022 that could rival the Son Doong Expedition, its flagship experience.

“On the new Hang Ba tour, which is still in development, Oxalis guides will lead spelunkers through upwards of five caves with gigantic limestone chambers and dangling stalactites. When cavers aren’t crawling, swimming, or paddle boarding, they’ll be camping and trekking through jungles,” says Afar.

The magazine also quotes Howard Limbert, who led the expedition team that discovered the caves in the early 1990s, saying it took a total of 15 hours to reach the cave cluster from Phong Nha village. However, thanks to the development of a new road, the journey may only take between five to six hours.

Limbert added that collective efforts aimed at protecting the caves and hiring people from the local community have reduced the rate of illegal logging and instilled conservationist attitudes.

“Phong Nha-Ke Bang can serve as a model for other protected areas in Vietnam,” Limbert said, “including the newly-recognised biosphere reserves Nui Chua and Kon Ha Nung.”

Regular flights have resumed to 19 international destinations a month after the Vietnamese government reopened the country's borders.
Vietnamese carriers are flying to Bangkok, Doha, Dubai, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, London, Moscow, Paris, Phnom Penh, San Francisco, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Taipei, Tokyo, and Vientiane, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said in a report.

China only allows outbound flights as it still pursues a zero-Covid policy with stringent entry restrictions.

Vietnam allowed a gradual resumption of aviation services on January 1 after over two years of suspension.

Some 153,000 people have so far flown into or out of the country.

On Tuesday the country ended all restrictions on international flights.

The Vietnamese Government has granted approval to a proposal put forward by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to reopen the country’s borders to international travel on March 15.
A document to this effect was released by the Government Office on February 16, outlining Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam’s conclusions at a recent working session held alongside relevant ministries and agencies regarding the reopening of the country’s borders to international tourism.
Deputy PM Dam requested that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism work alongside relevant ministries and agencies in order to formulate, complete, and make public a detailed plan relating to the reopening.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was assigned to work closely with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant ministries and agencies to compile a detailed report to the Government and the Prime Minister regarding visa policies which will be applicable to international tourists wishing to enter the country.
𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙭𝙚𝙙
During the February 15 meeting chaired by Deputy PM Dam, representatives of six ministries in charge of tourism, foreign affairs, transport, public security, and national defence proposed removing barriers to travel, with the exception of major COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
The designated ministries proposed that the country resume issuing entry visas, including electronic visas, as well as unilateral and bilateral visa exemptions for international visitors as seen during the pre-pandemic period.
Vietnam had exempted visas unilaterally for citizens from 13 countries and bilaterally for citizens from 88 countries and territories. However, the Government issued a resolution to halt this visa exemption mechanism following the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in 2020 which subsequently spread across the globe.
Also under the proposal, foreign citizens wishing to visit the country only need to fully meet COVID-19 regulations set out by the Ministry of Health. Accordingly, they are required to be fully vaccinated and have a negative COVID-19 test before boarding their flight. They must install at least one health quarantine application as prescribed by authorised Vietnamese agencies and always turn it on constantly during their stay.
Visitors entering by air and displaying symptoms of the virus must undergo testing at the airport. Others will travel directly to their pre-booked accommodation where they will self-isolate for a period of 24 hours and perform a rapid test or RT-PCR test. They will then continue their medical surveillance for a period of 14 days under the guidance of the Ministry of Health, as well as strictly observing the 5K message.
Visitors entering via land routes will undergo testing immediately at the border gate.
Foreign visitors must also pay an insurance premium to enjoy the insurance rate of up to US$10,000 in the event that they test positive and must undergo COVID-19 treatment in Vietnam.

CHAM ISLANDS :
