The sportsman's instinct is missing in me. I have an enormous admiration for those many men one sees in India who will for weeks and weeks, every year, give up all comforts, spend all their spare cash, undergo the severest hardships, and run the most deadly risks in the pursuit of game. I know well the strong determination, the hard training, the fine physique, the skill, and the steadiness of nerve that is required by the sportsman who will himself seek out the tiger in the plains of India, or the Kashmir stag, the ibex, markhor, or Ovis ammon in the Himalaya . Only real men can do this. And manliness we all admire. And the joy they get from a successful stalk— from successfully pitting their wits against the wits of the animal— we must all envy. Yet I do not regret the absence in me of the sportsman's instinct.

𝕎𝕖 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕟𝕠𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕥𝕠 𝕝𝕠𝕤𝕖 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕒 𝕨𝕠𝕣𝕝𝕕 𝕥𝕠 𝕤𝕖𝕖!!

This was my first solo trekking.
I was amazed how did I managed to survive the whole trek. I bought the book of "Trekking in the Indian Himalaya" written by Gary Weare, one of the best from Lonely Planet's walking series. April, 2012, I planned my journey, bought the topo map and learned how to use it. From 50 best treks I selected for my first solo adventure. Bought that big 80 Ltrs Rucksack from Delhi. Couple packets of Maggi, Rice, dried pulses, eggs, 5 Ltrs of gas with oven some warm clothing and tent. I was very excited. Trained myself very well. When I packed the whole rucksack it weighed around 25 kilos. I lost 6 kilos of body weight on that trip 😭. This photo was taken near upper Jagatsukh village crossing before bridge, where one family gave me shelter and food that night. The place was like heaven. Mt. দেয় tibba can be seen from here. Perfect mountain village experience.

You live in the midst of it but can describe it only from the vantage point of distance.

I have tried drawing these landscape from my childhood, watching the beautiful calender photos. Now these landscape remind me of my childhood and when I was in the 3rd standard, my father was posted in Kathmandu. Father used to take us in Pokhra every month. I still remember. How gorgeous or majestic these mountain are and their people.
Spiti valley is so beautiful that in every corner of the valley you will find yourself close to the nature. History goes back to thousands years ago when this place was only a middle land between Tibet and Indian Sun continent. Tibetan culture has flourished the valley, Whitewashed Monasteries will spellbound you. There simple and helpful.

Theog, 51 km east from main town of Shimla on Indo-Tibettan Highway.. Less tourist popular hamlet in the early days.
Accidentally our bus just stopped and front left tire was punchered. We had our breakfast and explore the nearby.. Found out that it is the most spectacular village of Shimla district. Theog is one of those places which lets you see the unadulterated rural way of life from up close. Weekend trip to this place will be awesome..

Langza being the most spectacular village in Spiti valley, offers a beautiful view of the entire village with a 360 degree panaromic landscape.. Height is 14500 ft from sea-level. Home of ancient fossils and famous Peak Chau Chau Kang Nilda (6303 mtr) can be see. From here..
