Dhangethi is an island of the Alif Dhaal (aka Southern Ari) Atoll some 90 kilometers from Male. It is about 350 meters wide and 925 meters long. It’s the atoll capital and home to some 1,000 inhabitants. Famous for its long widely stretched lagoon, & all year all around whale shark and Manta sightings. And see the pride of smile in their faces while they tell you about the famous "Moon Jar" story of Dhangethi. A Bikini Beach is provided for the tourists visiting this island.
Dhangethi island is located in the Dive Heart zone of Maldives. Friendly locals inhabit this island. Souvenir shops are seen everywhere and the islanders welcome you with a smile everytime. Ask the locals about this monument when you are here.
