We’re having a great time on our current tour in Texas!
Among the many fabulous highlights, were these stunning Whooping Cranes.
The species declined to a low of around 20 birds in the 1940s, but thanks to captive breeding programmes and wetland habitat management, numbers have risen to around 600 today.
Still an incredibly rare bird that we always feel very privileged to see on our popular Texas tours!
Other goodies include American White Pelican, Crested Caracara, Red-shouldered Hawk, White-tailed Kite, Bald Eagle, Snow Goose, Black Skimmer, Burrowing Owl, waders galore (inc American Avocet, Marbled Godwit, dowitchers, etc), Kingbirds, and so much more.
