The main entrance to Old Town, busy Pile Gate (the name derived from Greek word pylaj meaning gate) in the old-time (built in the 15th century) used to have a wooden drawbridge which used to be pulled up at night to prevent unwelcome guests entering the medieval, walled city.

The drawbridge was replaced by stoned one long time ago so nowadays, the beautiful stone bridge leads across the small green passage (ex moat) thought the Gate to the Old town and down the steps to Stradun, the Town’s main promenade.

The only person to have had a statue raised in their honour by Dubrovnik was the sailor, Miho Pracat. He left his entire fortune to good causes. The Republic didn't raise statues in honour of anyone other than saints and other supernatural beings believingit that no individual was greater than the city. The statue of this noble citizen was placed in the courtyard of Knezev Dvor (Rector's Palace) where it remains today. The statue is visible in the sixth episode of the second season of Game of Thrones in a scene featuring the Spice King, set in the city of Qarth.

Amerling Fountain in Dubrovnik is one of the best works of the Croatian sculptor Ivan Renditch. It was installed in 1900 as a gift to the brothers Amerling hometown.

It is located on the shaded area filled with tourists saw that inspection is the beginning of the Old Town.

The construction is an excellent four-meter composition depicting Satyr and Mavka. According to legend, the nymph Dubraўka met at this place one of the satyrs.

Local guides sculpture called "The Girl with the pigeons," she greets visitors at the walls of the historic city. Fountain is a significant landmark in the city, which attracts tourists.
