This trail is rocky and consistently steep. The “stairs” are large rocks and boulders. The views are fantastic on a clear day. This is the suggested route up Table Mountain especially if you have never hiked in the area before. The trail is direct and it is difficult to get lost. Reaching the top cable station once you have summited is well marked and only a few hundred metres further.

The most direct, and probably most popular, route to ascend Table Mountain.

This trail is rocky and consistently steep. The “stairs” are large rocks and boulders. The views are fantastic on a clear day. This is the suggested route up Table Mountain especially if you have never hiked in the area before. The trail is direct and it is difficult to get lost. Reaching the top cable station once you have summited is well marked and only a few hundred metres further.

Picture yourself at Eagle's Nest, basking in the glory of the sunrise, while sipping on a hot, revitalizing beverage. It's the ultimate reward for daring adventurers like you!

Beautiful views, rock formations and fynbos. A few scrambles but nothing difficult. Much more interesting than the more common and easier walk up the Jeep track.

The beautifully bright orange blooms of the Crocosmia aurea characterise this popular plant. When flowering, it is hard not to admire the burst of vivacious colour, set off by the soft, wide sharp-tipped leaves.

While there are many ways to ascend Table Mountain, one of the most epic routes would have to be Kasteelspoort, which takes you up the Western slopes of the mountain known as the 12 Apostles. This is one of the best ways to enjoy the spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and Camps Bay coastlines for which the Mother City has become so famous.

You'll also be rewarded with the adventurous opportunity to take a photo on the "diving board" which is not for the feint hearted.

The India Venster trail offers sensational views, enhanced by the dramatic setting and striking rock-formations. City views along the first two hours give way to sea views on the upper section. The route leads up an imposing part of Table Mountain, threading through steep and dramatic terrain that seems unclimbable from below. It offers exciting hiking and diverse views without being too strenuous. An unforgettable experience guaranteed.

This super adventurous route follows a well-defined trail, rocky and mostly uneven, with big rock steps on the steep sections. The trail takes you up to the Table Mountain upper cable station. In addition, it involves scrambling and narrow ledges about 15% of the way. The narrow ledges are not extreme – you don’t shuffle sideways over a stupendous drop with your body plastered to a bulging rock face – but those with height issues will find it challenging to some degree. No experience needed for the scrambling.

This is one of the most rewarding hikes in the Cape Peninsula with beautiful fynbos and magnificent 360° views to experience the Peninsula in all its glory! Look out for the proteas and ericas and indigenous trees. You may even spot a black eagle.

Chapmans Peak is the mountain peak around which the famous scenic road, Chapman's Peak Drive is built. It was named after a certain John Chapman, a British sailor sent ashore to check for fresh water in what is now Hout Bay.

Great hike in the city. It is a bucket list must-do for Cape Town. Amazing 360 degree views. Some sections are quite exposed and there are ladders and staples to assist. This hike is popular on nights with a full moon (with headlamps) as well as at sunrise and sunset.
